Do you think Carsley is trying to be a clever ****e showing that we might not need a striker when we have the likes of Bellingham, Foden, Palmer, Saka. For me as a head coach you should play to your strengths in a formation and if that means a "name" player misses out and is on the bench so be it
The issue for yrs with England is they try to fit their best players into a system. Rather than picking the best system then play the players that fit that system Watkins is a quality CF, his movement in behind creates the space the likes of foden n Palmer thrive in If you don't have that threat ij behind a defence can keep their shape easier
Every time they attack it's down the England right hand side where Alexander-Arnold vacates. Don't think he's been in the right back position all night, going forward or defending
It’s weakness for me. Trying to fit all of these players in and basing it around the names that the fans are getting het up about because he’s not strong enough to be ‘team first’. You can fit some of these players into the same team but not all. And quite why you’d hang your hat on a player as aggressively mediocre as Gordon I’ll never know. For me it’s Foden or Palmer (unless Saka isn’t there and you can fit one wide right). Seems clear to me that Foden is the more talented player but Palmers goal threat is certainly useful at times. But then you’re compromising on Bellingham. Ultimately this absolute mess would get torn a new arsehole by even a b level international team.
If this is what the future of England looks like under carsley I’m pleased it’s temporary - looks clueless
Not a clue where Trent is supposed to he playing A better side would have put us to the sword. Weve been wide open, really poor.
