    I don't think there was a problem with either in reality ... his motivation was, more likely, cash.

    Seriously, what can his 'vision' and ambition be for Stoke, scrape promotion and come back down again?

    It's baffling. Maybe the coin and the proximity to his family home were enough for him to shelve any ambitions of managing in the PL again

    They were always nice and steady, always had a steady line of signing ex man u and Liverpool players and in recent years man city. very lucky with Geography because players from said clubs didn't have to move house. Not all signings made from thoes clubs of course,But since the investment, sponsorship of the training ground, like you say, basket case.

    Read an interesting article in The Guardian today about how they are struggling to secure the finance for the new stadium. Going to be an almighty White Elephant if they get relegated
