Thought Trent was the best right back in the world? I’d rather have Gooch after that showing!!

He won't be going to the world Cup on that showing (or at least he shouldn't). Walker, James and Trippier will go ahead of him

I didn't like typing it but I think he will get picked. The 'pundits' on BT have just dismantled Trent frame by frame.

I’m not surprised. The lad can’t defend and looks like he can’t be bothered half of the time. Really lazy in his own half.

That was the crux of it. Basically 'if that was Trent running forward he would be sprinting, but he isn't interested in defending amd so he jogs' was the top and bottom of it.

I still can’t believe Preston have played 8 league games - scored 2 and conceded 1 <laugh> Their games must be ridiculously dull.

The lad has lost his way completely. Undoubtedly a talent with the ball at his feet but I think there's a touch of arrogance there and him believing his own hype which has led to massive complacency. Liverpool need to drop him for a few games for his own good.

It looks like Potter at Chelsea is going to be announced today. I'm shocked that he's their choice and that it's been planned already.

It's brilliant to see him get this opportunity and to see if he takes Chelsea in a different direction.

If he fails, Newcastle/Villa/Everton etc. will all still take him 18 months from now.

Can sympathise with the Brighton fans as they're getting a taste of what we got 3 weeks ago, but they're club will move on like we did, as no one person is bigger than the club.

As was said yesterday, very pleased for Potter. About time one of the big jobs went to an unfashionable English coach. If they get excited and sack him in 18 months, 2 years he'll still get a very good job because of his Brighton record. Good luck to him. Shame it's Chelsea.

Coincidence that Potter is away? Our game at Watford is still on though isn't it?

If Brighton bring in Poch or Rodgers, they'll be alright. I feel for Brighton, they had a decent chance of Europe with Potter there.

Brighton v Palace on the 17th called off because of train strikes. We play at Watford that day, I wonder if we could be affected by that.

I don't think anyone at Brighton would begrudge Potter this opportunity as it's a massive step up at this time - like if Neil had been offered a Premier League job.

It'll be interesting to see what Brighton do. Everything they do is so well thought out, but they're very much at a crossroads now. I think losing Dan Ashworth to the mags in May was a massive loss to them. They then let Bissouma (far too cheaply) and Cucarella (for a great profit) leave this summer. There's potential that Potter leaving is the start of a downturn for them.

Steve Cooper would be a good choice if they'd be willing to pay Forest the compensation I'd say. It would be interesting to see how ambitious they are though and see if they can attract one of the hot prospect coaches from a Champions League side like Jaissle from Salzburg or Amorim from Sporting.

Awful mate. Can be good attacking but he’ll never be a right back. Could never defend for **** and now his attacking side is going downhill too. Makes him a liability.

but, as I can’t stand Liverpool, I don’t really care!!
