ARBROATH may have been caught out by Blair Yule's late equaliser, but they weren't the only ones embarrassed at Gayfield.

Fans have been poking fun at a linesman who appears to be wearing DRESS SHOES while officiating the clash between Arbroath and Cove Rangers.

Arbroath suffered a late sickener at their home match against Cove Rangers yesterday.

Boss Dick Campbell may have thought Michael McKenna's opener was enough to win the game after they led 1-0 in the 90th minute.

But Cove's Blair Yule struck in injury time to level it up in the dying seconds.

But despite the late drama there was another incident which caught the eye of fans.

The match linesman was caught out wearing dress shoes while officiating the match.

And if it wasn't bad enough trying to keep up with the match without any studs, the moment was pictured by a supporter in the crowd.

Red Lichties fan Jack Plomer captured the offending footwear in a viral tweet.

And fans could not handle the hilarious pictures.

The linesman was criticised for his choice of footwear

One supporter replied: "His body is at the Arbroath game but his feet are at a wedding in 1952."

Another replied: "That's straight out of the lost and found."

Whereas another said: "What are thooose."
