Nice gesture. A few players do this, but I wish more did. To the starstruck young fan it means everything.
2 more Premier League games postponed. Liverpool v Leeds and Wolves v Watford, lots of EFL games now too. This is just pathetic now, surely a circuit breaker of 2 weeks is needed and calling off that stupid African tournament too !
Doubt a two week break would achieve much if society in general was cracking on. The ACON is an important tournament. Clubs buy African players knowing what they’re getting.
Your lol, I have Salah, Jota, Arnold and Raphinha in mine ! How many points would that 1 game have got me this weekend ffs ?
Sometimes religion really is a pile of ****e. Fair play to him. Celebrate it, don't celebrate it, but why kick off when he does this?
Joao Cancelo been attacked by 4 burglars in his own home. Apparently tried to fight them off but they escaped with jewellery, leaving him with some facial injuries. Maggots but surely with his wealth he should've just let them take it instead of putting his family and himself in further danger.
Stark contrast to the Salah "I'll be Muslim too" chant which puts a smile on my face when I hear it as it's the sort of cheeky but accepting attitude most people have really. I'd add to your first sentence: Most of the time social media really is a pile of *****.
Couple of Watford players withdrawn from Nigerian AFCON squad. Looks like there were some technical timing reasons involved. Ian Wright, Patrick Viera and Ajax’s Sebastian Haller have spoken out very eloquently about the double standards and disrespect shown to AFCON, and I think they are right. To the players and countries involved the competition is just as important as the Euros, and imagine the outcry if players were withdrawn from the England team. The problem with AFCON is timing, surely something can be done to make it coincide with the European Championships?
Yes, just had this exact conversation with my bro-in-law, can't wait to see a competition held in South Sudan in June in 120°+ heat, will be so good for the players - or with 2am kick offs....AFCON is a joke, but only because it doesn't get the cash incentives it deserves as per FIFA world cup or Euros.....if the money was there to help it coincide with Euros then I'd sure they'd make it work
If they can play a world cup in June in Africa then they can play other tournaments then too The 2010 FIFA World Cup was the 19th FIFA World Cup, the world championship for men's nationalassociation football teams. It took place in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010. The bidding process for hosting the tournament finals was open only to African nations. In 2004, the international football federation, FIFA, selected South Africa over Egypt and Morocco to become the first African nation to host the finals.[6]
