The "ifs" about had Ken got hold of a couple of those shots properly and "if" their keeper had dropped Hoilett's specualtive shot over the line instead of redeeming himself we might have had a different story is a bit hollow.
The fact was that although they are a mega class above us, they were never put under any pressure. Bristol City did just that in the Carabao and stuck a couple in to get back to 2-2. OK they lost the game with a Man City injury time winner but at least they had a bloody go at them.
I don't see anything positive in keeping the scoreline down. If you lose you lose and you're out - that is all that matters. If we had been drubbed by 6 or 7 there is the belief that it would be difficult to lift the players for the next Championship game - I don't believe that at all.
