That's a fair whack for a keeper, I wasn't as convinced by him this season as I was last year. They have Speroni, who they're trying to tie down to another deal, so I'm guessing they'd move him to back up and have Ruddy as #1.
Slightly confused by this, Speroni has had a great season, and yes he is on the older side at 34 but surely he stall has another couple years in him yet. Also didn't they bring Wayne Hennessey in, in January for about £3m. Ruddy is a good keeper though and probably an upgrade on the 2 mentioned, but feel the money could be better spent
Like many of these stories, it could be bollocks, but it's in the Telegraph. Hennessey was about half that amount.
The same guy who broke the Ruddy story is now saying us an Leicester are after Speroni on a free. Now him and McGregor would be an excellent pair of keepers
They would indeed. Looks like Spurs are after Jay Rodriguez, Saints will be running out of players soon.
The original offer was £27m plus Fellaini, but Soton turned it down. (Sorry if this has already been said)
Shaw, Lallana and Rodriguez, wowzer that'll be about £60 million by my basic reckoning. Great for the bank balance but very risky trying to replace 3 of your 4 best players (I put Schneiderlin in there too).
For what it's worth, Cardiff don't seem overly impressed by him, nor indeed do Sunderland. In fact Sunderland seem a bit pissed off that he's being hawked about for £800k when a couple of weeks ago they had him lined up for £5m!!! (oh yeah? Mirror reporting again). http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...-transfer-news-campbell-3492334#ixzz31VEMvTKf I doubt he would become first choice striker for us while we have Long and Jelavic, so he may have a long wait. He may not be a disruptive influence because he does not "rub along" with other players, but his wages (as reported) and his routine of auctioning himself off to the highest bidder at every season end are unlikely to endear him to the Hull fans. Again. He may not be as big a cock as his brother DJ, but I think a fair few City fans might be "disrupted" if we were seriously going to bid for him. Not going to happen, so it really doesn't matter anyway.
Completely agree with you OLM. FC has NEVER been a disruptive influence in any of his clubs...was a great team player when he was last with us....and has everything we need up front...blinding speed, takes half chances, and is brilliant in the air. I can't believe he would be available for 800K but would consider him a bargain even at 3 mill. Come home Fraizer....you know Brucie loves you!!
Agreed - those who are objecting to the idea of Campbell playing for us would be celebrating with the rest of us if he scored the winner against...oh let's say...Leicester
