    Santos only got £7.8m for Neymar, all the rest of the money went to his third party owners.

    According to some Irish sources, Shay Given is joining Doncaster on loan. There's a possibility that Stephen Ireland might be joining him. Two real coups there if they come off.

    Apparently Irish investors are looking at buying Doncaster Rovers, which might explain the sudden influx of Irishmen to the club.

    So what? We stayed up, which was the point of spending the money. The money this summer is to improve the team to see if we can get into the top 10.

    Besides, our major purchases (Clyne, Ramirez, Rodriguez, Lovren, Wanyama) are all young players who should improve and command higher fees should we need to sell them on.

    QPR are chasing free agent Javier Saviola, while Norwich are apparently closing in on the signing of Fabio Quagliarella. If these are the strikers teams are bringing in, I hope we can compete.
