When you struggle to break into Barnsley's squad, you know it's time to call it a day.

And who only scraped survival on the final day. Yeah, that one.

And they didn't serve us up, we were just twice as bad as they usually are!

I don't know, I was there and they didn't look anything special. We just made ourselves look really bad. I don't want to take too much from Barnsley, who did deserve to win, but had our opponents been Cardiff or Watford that day, we'd have been slaughtered. Barnsley just had to turn up to win, we could've played for days and got nothing.

In any case, it was all rather embarrassing.

In other news I think I read on twitter somewhere that Emerton is off back to Sweden. Walsall have offered Devitt a trial and Clarkson is set to join up with East and Bradley at Portsmouth.

I'll be in the minority on this as well, but I didn't think we did anything particularly wrong, we just couldn't cope with their harrying and chasing and couldn't find the space to string two passes together. When a game goes that badly wrong it's hard to tell whether it's one team being crap, one team being good or a bit of both, but I just thought they closed us down really well and stopped us playing.

Even then, £14.9m seems a bargain for a player of Navas' quality.

I don't know, I haven't really seen anything special to suggest that he's anywhere over £10m. Admittedly I don't pay much attention to football abroad outside the Champions/Europa League, but I've never seen any rave reviews or special write ups about Navas. Maybe he proves me wrong and sets the Premier League alight, but at the moment, I'm rather surprised.

Fernandinho however is a player I've heard about and though he did cost a rather large sum, he's a player I've seen play and seems worth the punt (correct use of punt?).

£30m is one helluva punt. He does look a good player from what I've seen.

Monaco to bid £100m or £85m depending on where you read it. This starts a whole new spending era, just like Chelsea did.

Newcastle are allegedly going to bid £6m for Bent.

Monaco have allegedly already bid £85m for Ronaldo.

The ongoing internal rift @ Swansea City between chairman Huw Jenkins and manager Michael Laudrup shows no sign of ending after a recent phone meeting. ML wants to sign Peter Odenwingie, Alvaro Negredo and has missed out on Liverpool bound striker Iago Aspas,, but Jenkins says No to the Odemwingie one out of hand as he does not fit in with what Swansea are all about.:D Another target of ML also being dismissed by Jenkins is Arouna Kone. Reports suggest that Jenkins would rather bring in Kenwyn Jones and Marvin Emnes. <yikes> No wonder that Laudrup wants out. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

No No No. Hull City served themselves up on the day to Barnsley. :( Thankfully its history and now in the past and Best left in the past. Call it a hot flush we were in that day ? :steam:

But not worth £30m but then who is. ? :D

Dont expect to see Chelsea take a £30m hit on that one either. Jose The Happy one looks like binning Ba to make way for Lukaku and another star striker if national reports are correct.

Aston Villa have a greed a fee with Danish club side AaB to sign striker Nicklas Helenius. Bye bye Mr Bent, bye bye.

Chelsea look set to reunite Wesley Schneijder and manager Jose Mourinho this summer.

Cardiff City look favourites to land Newcastle defender Mike Williamson. Shola Ameobi could also follow him out of the Toon.

Darren Bent is being linked with a summer move to Newcastle Utd.

Norwich City have accepted defeat in the chase for Celtic striker Gary Hooper.

Norwich City have joined the race to land Wba target Olla Toivanen from PSV.
