Shiny, I think we should all re -vote for two strikers as per a 4-4-2 formation. Anyone who played before this became the norm in the late 60's / early 70's will just have to fit in.

So if you go this way, my votes are for John Atyeo and Tom Ritchie.

With very sincere apologies to Bob Taylor, Joe Royle, Brian Clark, Mick Harford, Glynn Riley and Shaun Goater.

Cheers wiz <ok> as I said ateyos winning and he probably will win this one, So he's going to be in the side

The next vote is where im going to struggle, Of all my years watching city ive not really seen a great striker, Maynard and Peacock probably being the best Ive seen at the gate

In my lifetime it has to be the Cheese, he was simply awesome!
I wish I had seen Atyeo but he retired when I was 8 weeks old.

The Cheese would undoubtedly have led the England front line barring that dreadful injury for which I still blame Shilton, git!!

Big John Atyeo...well who else would I vote for, he is head & shoulders above any other striker/target man we have ever had...would loved to have seen Andy Cole alongside him, now can you imagine that!!!!!!. Agree that without his injury, Paul Cheesley would have come close, the biggest dissapiontment I have ever had watching City, was when his career came to a sad end. There have been many others of course, John Galley, Gerry Sharpe, bob Taylor, Brian Clark & in recent years, Nicky Maynard, who before his injury set back, was superb IMHO.

So its Peter John Atyeo & Andrew Cole for me!!

I think from his problems during the latter part of the promotion season, that the Big Cheese had troubles with his knee long before the incident with Shilton. But that was the last time he played for City, apart from a couple of starts later in that autumn, so that's why most remember that incident as significant. I believe it all started a lot earlier.
