So many to choose from!.........loved the attitude of Bobby Hutchinson. He would travel down from Scotland to train and play and was made captain. A leader on and off the pitch. Tins Gow Tommy Doc Jacki....was he a midfielder or out and out striker?.....he was everywhere! Steve Galliers LJ was a major factor in our promotion year, as was Noble. I will go for Bobby Hutchinson and Tins
You can imagine Gow and Tinnion playing in the same side. Gow was easily good enough to adapt to even today's effiminate football.
Gow and just about anyone else Tainton gets my vote over Tinnion because he did actually play in the old first div, unlike Tinnion who could have. Tainton had a few man-of-the-match displays for City, most notably at home to Villa where he scored both goals. Lovely little pirouettes, very hard to shake off the ball, and didn't give it away easily. Good shot sometimes too, though not beautifully balanced or two footed particularly. He was a revelation against Arsenal in that historic win at Highbury. Gow. Quite simply the best midfield player this club has produced in its entire history (by a country mile). Sorry Shiny, but I wouldn't even have 'Marv' in our reserve side
An all-time City 11 without Gow and Hunter is like a joke all-time City 11. And Tinnion could be the manager
I always saw tinnion as a left sided midfielder - didn't think he was strong enough as a central midfielder. Definitely Gerry Gow - then it's a tough call... Also liked Gary Shelton, Steve Galliers, Tommy Docherty, Rob Newman (preferred him in midfield), so will have to think about the second choice a bit more
