Robbie plays like Berbatov but struggles with positioning, thought Cuggy had knocked that into him in pre-season as he seemed to be in the box a lot more. He's always looked lazy but he's very creative when he wants to be and will be a big miss. Daft decision in my eyes.

Not surprised by his comments. No point in whinging, this is the way these kind of guys do business. Ruthless. Can't see how he is being greedy. 1 year on same terms is indeed laughable if they had agreed on something different. Bottom line is one player whinging about broken promises could be an axe to grind. The numbers now saying this at us means there is some substance to the claims. Such is life, we all move on. I have no problem with him making them comments. Asked a question, answered it. I would also prefer we'd kept him. He did a great job for the club. Things won't change, they'll always do as they please when it comes to money or anything else. As supporters we've just gotta support whichever 11 is on the pitch. The way we do business, who we have as an owner etc is beyond anything we can alter. As I say forcing him out was a poor decision for me but they are going to do things there own way.

Lets face it though, the move was entirely money driven, he knows as well as I do he'll be nowhere near the starting XI of a PL side in 3 years. He's not exactly pushed for cash, why didnt he play 2 or 3 more years here then retire when its appropriate - he's not a player like Giggs/Scholes who can play into their thirties.

I'm not sure its possible when you can't trust people. From his point of view he can go elsewhere, get the same or more money, work with better people and in a better atmosphere. Only downside is having to play under fat sam! Poor bastard. Its easier and happier to go elsewhere. These kind of stunts being pulled time and again on you and your teammates just grinds you down.

This. It's always going to be his word against Lambias & MA's word

Look we are shocking a few of our egos while Man City etc boost theirs. We are where we are an that will do, however we can only wait for football to do a Leeds and hope Ashley knows what he's doing.

Whether this deal or that is reasonable or not is neither here nor there. What is important here is truth and integrity, and we get neither from the powers that be at SJP, including spin doctor supreme Alain De Pardieu.

As regards an earlier post that we all know what's going on at NUFC, the point is that we don't. How many times have we been told one thing and then the opposite happens, like the AC not for sale at any price, and all of the £35 would be plowed back into the team. Not undersoil heating, or improvements to the training facilities. Good moves I'm sure, but that's not what we were told.

In the absence of credibilty from the club, how are we going to know what's right or wrong, unless the players tell us? That's why I welcome Barton's contribution to the debate, as at least we know what he says is true, even if we don't always agree with what he says.
