Oh irony of irony. One of the most criticised policies in the eu is the fishing quota system and the fishing industry were cited as one place where leaving would be a good thing.
But it now emerges that 66% of fish landed by british boats is exported to the eu and access to the single market is vital if the industry is to survive.
So whats going to happen? We will negotiate a deal.
So what have we got to offer? Nothing.
What we will do is give foreign boats more rights to fish in our waters and no doubt we will still be bound by the quota and throwback procedures that are so criticised... Yet another industry that will lose out after any brexit.
