Indeed, where is it coming from? Not too many options left. 2014 and beyond season ticket sales? Sale of the 3 or 4 remaining player assets that anyone would want to pay for?
The money is where? What leads you to believe it that could change? The hiring of NW? He already has stated that the funds will be very limited.
I do find it very very difficult to take people seriously when they make up stories like "it's the fans fault for not turning up" when they never go themselves. "customer is king" is a truism for a reason - it's true! If the customer decides he is not buying, the business must do something to get the customer back, or the business is in trouble. I don't find you credible Josh
1. Give me a link where he says funds will be very limited. 2. It is possible it could change, yes Taking a single quote from a whole paragraph completely takes it out of context
We can expect it, doesn't mean we'll get it. We have the right to expect it then get annoyed when it doesn't happen
But it's not out of context at all! Your whole paragraph was about blaming the fans for not spending their hard earned at ER for the club having its problems! As you then admitted later on that you have been to ER about 5 times in the last 3 years, this shows you did not help save the club from extinction when we had to, you have not been hit by the costs of attending ER regularly, you have not seen how bad it is nor the atmosphere, yet you have the arrogance to tell other people that they should be spending their money at ER. I find it incredibly arrogant and hypocritical of you to even dare to think of telling other people how to spend their money and blaming them for the business practices of the club. You cannot blame the fans for them reacting to the business practices employed by the chairman/owner. You can only blame the chairman/owner. I put no store in your contribution to these debates
The latest blog post on the LUST website suggests that fans not showing up should not have the sort of financial impact that bates wants us to think. Various financially savvy LUST members have looked through the accounts and found there's plenty of stuff that hasn't been reported properly
there's no direct quotes about funding being very limited, but the noise coming out of Leeds United, the way they constantly harp on about cutting squad size and using youth more, strongly implies they're cutting costs on the playing squad.
Marko, I know you and I are on the same page regarding the current ownership, but to expect a complete different behaviour from before is totally unrealistic.
While shocking, most of the errors they have found are clerical in nature. I am a CA and CPA in public practice and when we know a set of financial statements is likely to be scrutinized so closely, we are very careful about making sure they are accurate before going out the door. Sloppy accounts makes one wonder how rigorous their audits have been, for me anyway.
thought we had spent next couple of years ticket sales! that to me suggests that funds will be limited!
Rather, we SHOULD expect it. I'm saying this in the case of demands. As paying customers we expect the best for the price we're paying. Doesn't mean we'll get it, but we should expect it and anything less is worth complaining about. The reason we're in this mess is because we expect better than we're getting, and that shouldn't change. The board are trying to lower expectations at every opportunity.
I hear you. The reason we are in this mess is because many have believed what was being said rather than what was being done for too long. I personally thought he might be good for the club initially but that all changed when he gave Kevin BlameWell a contract extension after a horrible 3 months at the end of that Championship season.
