ER under Jewel we were rock bottom and sinking fast having conceded a shed load every game and 8 loaners! fast forward a year we are comfortable mid table and only one loanee in the side! You are such a ****** Spanish!
Oh my days, your delusing gets worse by the day, this is the man who bought in a supposed big name manager in Keane and gave him loads of money to spend, while hoping it would fail. He wants us to fail because it would not be beneficial reaching the prem, you talk such poo it is unbelievable!!
But then again, Spanish is entitled to say what he likes on our board, JWM is a veteran of the Budgie boards, he's no shrinking violet, he can take anything that Spanish can throw at him, and answer it, he's a big boy, he can look after himself...
Warky you were calling for his head long before we were rock bottom. Fabricating the truth again muppet!! Oh dear i am actually pissing myself reading your posts, your desperation to prove yourself right in MMs backing is to be admired but is rather pathetic
It's called being loyal to a manger who actually knows more about football than all of us on here combined will ever know! That Rioja your drinking mate must be strong stuff cos you are taking leave of all your sense of proportion! To compare Jewells catastrophic reign with that of McCarthys is just plain silly! Mind you no wonder at it from the guy who defended Keane to the hilt!
WTF, why pick out this post, happens to be the truth, sorry you didn't like it hoppers but frankly i dont give a ****, there is no way i am gonna bow down to a twat like warky, guess if you don't like it you should not read it!!
Warky being loyal to a manager, how long do you have to be loyal for coz it didnt last long with Jewell did it, when others said give him time you were there shouting them all down and being highly unloyal, double standards!!
Not really! McCarthy knows what he is doing and Jewell clearly did not! We are in tenth place last time I looked not rock bottom as this time last year!
Oh and i have to say, 17000 fans or more can all see the same mistakes being made but the most important man cant, highly overated manager imo!! Last season has gone and there is no room for sentiment!!
Oh yeah cos your lover boy Holloway is soooo much better! I would take you seriously if you hadn't backed Keane to the last!
Anyway wahoo 10th, everyone has a game in hand on us, we could drop about 6 places tomorrow, we are only 7 points off relegation but could be 4 points off it tomorrow. We have played against and only drawn with 4 of the bottom 5 recently. Dress it up as much as you like, i think that is poor but only time will tell.
My god, what have I walked into this morning? As I see it.... Our football isnt inspiring or even mildy entertaining but it has turned us from a laughing stock of the last few seasons to a hard to beat and competitive side. The style has been very similar since MM walked into PR. Our games are normally tight and in all honesty the difference between 3,1 and 0 points can be the spot of talent that D McG shows. He is the one spot of 'show off talent' in the squad. I can see why SPANISH is taking his stand. If you didnt rate MM in the first place, other than our resilience (organisation, defensive knowhow etc) there is little to make you get excited and therefore want to change your point of view. This is similar to how I felt under RK. You were waiting for something to make you think 'ok he may be worth giving the benefit of the doubt to' but he didnt come. I dont like the idea of the managerial merry-go-round and although JWM may be ott in his praise of MM (he has done a great job but he isnt perfect), I can see why he would back him. We were a disaster before him and we are now compact and a competitive, in the fact we dont ever seem to be out of sight in a game. Unless you were against MM before he came then I dont think you can really say it would be in our best interests to see him leave. We are however at a bit of a crossroads. We have slipped back to the Keane set up of being so defensive that we look very toothless. At least MMs set up knows how to defend unlike Keanes BUT I think if we stick to 442 we can only change things by bringing in loanees. I cant see anyone in the squad that could make our front 6 look like a decent unit. For me the defence is fine except Hewitt would be in, at least to see what we can do. Our CM is fine being compact if they have inventiveness around them but our 4 are identical. No-one can cross or open play with a decisive pass. What the hell is it with Anderson. Im sure he is (was?) a winger but he seems to play an almost identical role to the others who are all fairly safe CM's Im not a fan of it but I think without reverting to loans then we should probably go 3-5-2 wingbacks It keeps our central defensive 3 in the team It gives Cresswell more forward movement and Hewitt is meant to be able to play the role on the right - if not Edwards can do a job there. You can keep the favoured Hyam/ Skuse CM partnership You can keep the McGoldrick/ Murphy partnership up front. You can then give A N Other the free midfield role. Possibly Taylor, possibly Wordsworth or even let McGoldrick play there and push someone else upfront (Lee, Marriott, Taylor) Im reluctant to criticise MM after doing the job he has done in such a short space of time but I just wish we could have just a bit of time spent making us more forward thinking. We appear to be set 75/25% in favour of safety. A little bit of freedom. especially from the wide players could turn us from SAFE and steady to being a threat.
We didn't dominate the first half at all. Only the last 15/20 minutes of it. Why oh why we can't see out a game is beyond me. Barnsley did the simple things right in the second half and we didn't know how to counteract it, same old subs. Defensively we're pretty sound but mick needs to make sure we keep our heads in midfield and supply the forward line with the chances to see a game out. They were headless chickens.
We were pretty dog **** last night and to be honest we have under performed over the last few weeks but i don't see any need to panic at all.
Now i agree to some degree or another in most of what you say Johnny but this Tax stuff i can't get my head round, i fail to see how it can ever be better to have a company make a loss and pay no tax than to make a profit and pay some tax. I may be missing something but although i agree some of the losses can be put against the Taxes of more profitable ME businesses surely it would be better if all his concerns ran at a profit. So although ME might be a little tight i doubt he wants a failing business.
In terms of possession it was pretty even 52% - 48% In terms of shots it was 7 - 0 So on one hand you are correct but on the other we did clearly dominate the 1st half.
No that's it Weighty, when you consider that two seasons in the top flight would easily wipe our entire debt out the tax argument doesn't stack up at all. Having Clegg for the Olympic ticketing did though, the whole purchasing of the club could feasibly have been all about that with Evans now not in the position he expected to be and able to sell the club on. It's all heresy though.
