A word in your ear
From a friend up here
It´s early days yet don´t forget,
And from what I´ve seen
You´ll cause many a team
Problems with your striking jet set

But the real hell
Of this here PL
Is mistakes made, however small,
Down at t´other end
Get no time to mend
The hammer will immediately fall

We found to our cost
With each point we lost
Last year just how hard it can be,
But I´m sure you´ll learn
And the tide will turn
As it did for us, gradually

And bearing in mind
Your start, all would find
Points extremely hard to come by,
Even Wigan too
For when you are new
Any game can still go awry

So chins up you lot
Don´t all go to pot
Just because the cupboard´s still bare,
There´s miles yet to go
In this crazy show
Just enjoy the rarified air.

It´s good to have you back, and I´m sure things will improve. <ok>

Not a fan of this poem.

He still pops in time & again, but he's not a fan of the money league, in fact I'd go as far as to say it pisses him off a fair bit.

I think I've mentioned it a few times, but if Saints weren't in it, I'd avoid the Premier League like it was the plague. Much prefer the Football League, with its relative lack of hype. If there was a petition to go back to First to Fourth Divisions I'd sign it.

I would tend to agree with him, but unfortunately such is the face of football these days, the only things vaguely recognisable from the 1950´s when I started going, are the size of the pitches we play on. But when it´s the game you love, you tend to look past all the warts, obscene money or not, no-one in their right mind would ever turn down the chance to play in the Premier League. I hate all the money that´s involved these days, but until the ´Rangers´ effect hits some of the top Premier League spenders, nothing´s going to happen, and maybe not even then.
