He's going because he can!
I think he's going partly because of Bruce leaving and he sees Newcastle as a better long term prospect but mostly because they will offer him a longer deal than what we will. He's 29 and if he can be on good money until he's 34 then he'll be happy.
Wiki already says he's a Newcastle player! Somebody being silly there.

for most of the time he looked like he couldn't give a **** so lets not get too carried away if he goes - --when Ehab's decided Phelan is the best man for the job after wasting a week pretending the best in the world want to come here we can start to focus on some more loan signings who will refuse to sign pay as you play contracts - ie the great Labour donor is offering players zero hours contracts

If you're referring to Odemwingie I think a lot of clubs would do exactly the same, given his age and history. I imagine he's also done quite well out of previous employment so he hardly equates to some poor sod on a Sports Direct Contract!

Same here.
In their sports headlines they said Sunderland are the only EPL side not to make a signing this window. Hmmm

They're classing Mannion & Edwards as signings, even though they're for the development squad. Although at this rate, that could be the first team next week!

It's even worse that I've had to wade through pages of this ****e on the wrong thread. If we're going to argue about what a release clause means - really? Only on this board...- then at least do it on the City transfers thread.

Oh please, Mr "Newcastle don't get 50k to home games" you're just as pedantic as Peter.
