Not true ? We should compare our selves to Swansea / Norwich / palace ?

On the PL radar small clubs but VERY well run !

Just cos one fans says we should discard Maya to better ourselves does not make it so. Yoshida has only recently signed a new contract and can play in more than one position so he does have a future here.

As for the others mentioned, we always honoured their contracts - we did not discard them.

Well there's always the World Athletic Championships to look forward to next week. Good luck to all our athletes. Would love to see Gatlin and Gay beat the darling of the media, Usain Bolt because I love an anti-hero!!

And one of the joys of watching athletics rather than football is the joy of watching human beings who can run thirty yards without launching a huge grolly at the end of it. Why do footballers spit so much?

As Saints fans we were kind of lucky to have a core of a team that played together for 5 seasons and of course with great success Kelv, Jose, Morgan, Twatbeard & SRL. Apart from the Ox we went five seasons without losing a first team player.

Personally I "connected"(for want of a better word) with this team more than any other during my relatively modest 25 years of watching Saints. But for the majority of those years being a Saints fan has been with the knowledge good players don't stick around and Le God was very much a one off.
From Rodney Wallace to Toby Alderweireld I have got used to not getting attached to footballers and never saw the more stable times of the 50s-80s.

Looking back, it's probably part of the reason as to why the infamous exodus of last summer was a bit of a shock to the system. We were lucky to go so long unchecked.

I don't like people who have been found guilty of doping though. So come on Bolt!
