With all the family traumas he's endured over the past 12 months, I think he's done a very steady job for a club that has gone from being cash strapped to cashed up. There lies the real issues for his sacking.

Just a rumour to get people to bung some cash on him, or some semblance of truth? Frankly, with the money they've got, I'd have thought they'd be looking for a more high-profile name....however, if true, it show's a lack of honour on his behalf having only been in the job a few months....

After Blackpool and Swansea I think the vast majority of fans would have carried him to the interview, dressed him up, and served him up with silverware, sauce and champagne.

If SM departed would it really be met with shrugs and sighs of "meh" with a token bit of anger at a lack of resolve to fight it out.

For me, I'm so indifferent that I'd just like him to be poached by Villa just so I can say "Exit stage left, pursued by a cabbage!"

Does that make me a bad person?
