I still think that NB may have one or two aquisitions in mind, but putting out that the players we have a good enough, might me a smoke screen. Maybe one more might come in before the end of the window?
I said when the transfer window opened that it will be a good one if we dont lose any of our first 11, that has not happened yet, we have brought in a couple of players. Like what has been said above who knows what contracks have been inproved with the young guys we have got! I dont want us to start paying silly money or breaking the bank on a big gamble! We all know what can happen if it fails. Im very happy the way this transfer is going and the way the club is been run at the moment
Nick has decided he's happy with the squad, so unless something dramatic happens, we're not planning any further additions.
Why buy for the sake of it, bringing in new personnel could disrupt the atmosphere in the camp. If we are not going to spend money on buying players then tie down our youngsters on longer improved contracts and install a very generous promotion bonus.
Personally I feel King has come in to fill the right flank, so we can move McLean centrally to play up top on his own. We have looked a different class when he has played there recently. Admittedly with Brady behind him...
Davies has been off for quite a while, injuries led to him making the Bolton starting XI and he's did well, so is no longer looking for a loan move. As for Hammill, I think that now Nick is confident we're keeping Cam and have firmed up the Brady and King deals, our interest has cooled.
If a deal could be done there then there is no question we would get Hammill, it's just the urgency from our side has lessened and with Wolves not in any rush to make a decision, it's something that will play out over the next couple of weeks possibly.
Our wikipedia page says we've loaned out Matty Mainwaring (21 year old midfielder) to Stockport after signing him from them this month. When did this happen?
Blimey! OLM is now even lapsing into manager speak - "he's did well". Maybe it'll be the classic "He's went into the box" next.
Maybe the bullard fiasco isnt looking as promising and the transfer budget might well have his name on it?
Barmby seems to have a sensible head on his shoulders and I dont think he ever intended to spend millions in January. Money will be available in summer when better deals can be done
He's already got too many strikers to choose from. Bring any more in and there'll be unrest, thereby undoing the team spirit. Anyway, what's the point of bringing any more in unless they are head and shoulders better than who we have?
if BOTH Hobbs & Chester got injured he'd recall McShane.. there's plenty in midfield the forward line is a concern, if Josh King turns out a gem we're up and running OR if Fryatt finds some more form ditto.. he's playing well, just not finding the net..
