Not sure we can accommodate both Sturridge and Benteke since neither work hard off of the ball.

    Hopefully this can be coached.

Sturridge works hard. Good positioning, etc.

I bet he'd fit in with Weymouth FC.

They're ****e, and just lump it long at any given opportunity. Even the current striker just lumps it long into the crowd.

Too many static opinions here for me. Like Luv says, use all the players depending who we're playing. Against City we played it right. Against someone else Benteke will be useful. Likewise for Sturridge.

We have some very good attacking players now, and finally have a manager that knows what the **** he's doing with them. I trust that Klopp will look at the opposition and choose his best 3 or 4.

We have a lot of options so use them. No point everyone picking their best 3 players and saying that's the correct team. Makes no sense in reality <ok>

In terms of pressing off the ball, he's quite lazy.

I don't see Benteke playing regularly, Klopp has left him on the bench a couple times now. I expect Sturridge to jump straight back into the first 11 when fully fit.
    Best team for me atm:

    ----------------------Mignolet
    Clyne--------Skrtel---------Sakho-------Moreno
    ----------------Lucas-------Henderson
    ----Lallana--------Firmino--------Coutinho
    --------------------Sturridge

You can play around with that by bringing Can and Milner in, depending on the match and fitness, but I only see Benteke as an option off the bench, behind Ibe even.

He would be my first choice to come in. If Henderson was moved forward and wide where Milner played, then you could bring Can in too.

Can can't be dropped, not based on the performances of last couple of games.

Hendo won't walk back into the team anyway, needs to earn his place. He's not Rooney, jumping back into the team because he's captain. Why would you change a team that just went to City, dished the biggest defeat at home since the 90's and provided probably the best 90 minutes of football we've played in 2 years and arguably the best 45 minutes since we demolished Arsenal at home.

Can you imagine telling any of the players that played in that game that they're being left out the next league game... i'd be pissed off massively.

Can offers a composure in the middle that the others are yet to offer but also offers that running ability with the ball. Milner & Hendo offer lots of energy but neither are as good as carrying the ball in the middle and neither have the pace and power than Can offers. Once he gets those first few steps under way he can motor and breezes past players.

Add that to the fact that him & Lucas have got a nice mix between them and offer nice protection to the defence.

When fit I'd go with this

    Mig
    Clyne Skrtel Sakho Moreno
    Hendo Lucas Can
    Cout Sturridge Firmino

The front 3 have license to roam like they did against City. Bench of Lallana/Ibe/Origi/Benteke/Milner/Lovren/Bogan looks a lot stronger than it has in previous years as well.

I think based on his performances before injury compared to other midfielders he deserves to be in first team.

That said, wouldn't be smart for him to start. I'd start him from the bench his first game back to ease him in after a long absence. He's bound to be rusty and not 100%.

Should he stink he may need a few more games from the bench. If he's good he'll take his spot back. He'd probably be an improvement on Lucas, Milner, Lala to name a few. (depending on strategy or position).

Cruel to drop any of the midfield but theoretically at least Hendo is the better player.

If anything, Can should be rested. He's played a lot of football this calendar year so hopefully he won't burn out.

Firmino looks like an Apache. We should call him Geronimo. He'd certainly yawn watching United last night.
