Know what you're saying but in a funny way I'd like it more if we could get a third division striker who did the job. Shades of SKP and wanting to play for us rather than being a stepping stone. Definitely unlikely but also definitely better as well if it works. Even better than all of this would be if Noble was the answer, hopefully we'll find out soon eh?
Hettonist - you talk so much sense. I'd love to find another Phillips in the lower leagues. But then, let's face it, the chances are pretty slim. But let's look at your point about Noble. I was very excited at the prospect of Bent and Gyan together, precisely because they were so different and wouldn't get under each other's feet. And both are very good at what they do. Sadly, it didn't get time to work out. But, whilst I haven't seen Noble, he sounds exactly the sort of johnny-on-the-spot that Bent is. So assuming Bendtner will be on his way next summer, why not turn the clock back - Gyan and Noble instead of Gyan and Bent? I'd jump at that, mate.
I just don't understand the people on here who want to rubbish every international striker we get if he says the wrong thing. We're short of goals for god's sake - we can't afford this nonsense.
