Just pointing out that holding signs up is a tit for tit thing, even though we tend to give ourselves a higher budget The fans don't but a Short deserves the vast millions he's lost.
There wouldn't have been any problems picking them out. They'd have been the unwashed amongst the 6 fingered!
I thought it was pretty pathetic when the fans arranged the fly over of St James (twice) especially when (for the second one) both teams still had unfinished business in the league. This is surely worse due to the propensity for violence which could stem from it, hence the police have got involved. You're still just talking about a small section of a fan-base but there's "obsession" on both sides I'm afraid - football is tribal and in the absence of anything to actually cheer about for ourselves the most many are able to find solace in is how badly the others are doing. As a region we are threatening to become a winnet on the arse of top-tier football.
I'll say again mate, I don't know anyone who was remotely interested in doing this. All my mates are of the same opinion as me, anyone who had the intention of going must have a sad life.
Glad to see that there are decent Mag fans condemning this. Can't begrudge them at all for having a laugh at us, we dished it out two years ago. But actually paying money to go and watch your rivals play, trying to stir up bother, is just beyond tragic.
Should have been easy to spot since an even more substantial number of us Sunderland Fans were avoiding buying tickets
Of all the safc related things I long for, Short leaving, Bains's **** eating grin to get stamped in etc. The one I long for most is the day I can go on the Internet and read about Sunderland without having to sift through **** about Newcastle's fans
Being pedantic I know, but of late I've ALWAYS been happy when I left. It was being there that made me unhappy.
I still love going marra... ALWAYS have, ALWAYS will I’ll be heading to grounds in Div 1 next season and STILL loving it
