I know mate, it's awful. But there was never gonna be enough supply to satisfy the demand for the tickets. Having to try and fairly allocate the tickets between the 10s of thousands who want one is a thankless task

10000 more? You reckon? Not judging by your cup crowds this season mate. You only got 21 against Chelsea in the quarter final. To be honest, some of the sob stories if heard pleasing for tickets sickens me. The big clamour for final tickets, when in reality, most of your fans hardly give a toss till the final.

For the folk who went today, 10\10. No problem with ones who live too far away, or genuinely can't afford it. The other, I hope they don't get a ticket for the final.

Spot on, as is usually the case RAW.

Let's be blunt here, there is always an excuse for people, people who live in different parts of the country, fine, Smug for example, excusable, his sons in Mansfield, fine.

But did someone say ****ing Valentines Day? What the actual ****.

Attendances have been poor and sliding for a while.

'Well we are well supported for the size of the city & considering we have been ****e'

How many times has a variation of this been written on this very forum? 'support' by it's definition suggests it would be more applicable in times of trouble, but nope, we have many, many thousands of stayaways, many of them whinging that they can't get cup final tickets, or derby tickets, or whatever.

I got to the SOL 15 mins late today, cos I'm a ****ing idiot and forgot we were an early kick off, as we walked in we said 'what the **** is this'?

It looked like less than 16k, frankly, and as RAW said, ****ing embarrassing.

We often talk on this board about 'potential' of the club. A turn out like today makes a mockery of that. Big time.

People plead poverty when the facts are they didn't fancy the game, and the weather was ****. Simple as that.

These will be the loudest voices to anyone that listens about 'we are in a cup final', the very ones that don't go, I know plenty myself, always talking a massive game about how much they love the club, never ****ing go.

I shudder to think what Ellis thinks when he sees **** like this.

OK, I'm back on here now so I'll clarify what I'm saying.

If people weren't planning a weekend at Wembley there'd be more.

If Poyet hadn't said we'd field the reserves and hope for a defeat, over a draw, there'd be more.

If we weren't in a relegation fight there'd be more.

Today's game was at the very bottom of our priorities.

I'm coming back for Palace at home and Norwich away ......... both a million times more important than today.

I said this morning I'd be happy with a good performance and a defeat, loads must have felt the same.

Sad for the FA Cup but we have a relegation battle and Wembley to occupy our thoughts.

On reading the points and reflecting, all my limited funds will go towards league matches after seeing 4 matches in the league cup not being given a sniff at Wembley tickets. If we make it to the fa cup semis or final I won't be showing an interest in obtaining tickets. There's about 5000 tickets unaccounted for i reckon/ I would have accepted losing out in a general sale. The club wants to give a **** off to me then right back at it. I'll support my club on my terms now. I've missed out on league matches to support this cup run and give the competition the respect it deserves, I've been shown none in return.

If even a measly dozen tickets had gone on sale I would have respected it. No phase 3 no respect from me. Made sure those little Hitlers in the high-viz jackets had access to 4 each though didn't they?

Perhaps Ellis should be saying why he expects supporters to pay good money to watch players who are obviously on their way out of the club,

Dossena, Seb, Gardner, Colback, Wickham, etc will all be off in the summer.

Ellis's manager had said he'd play the reserves and hope for a defeat above a draw and possible progression.

If the chairman & manager show no commitment to the FA Cup then why the **** should we?

Just imagine how the thousands of the likes of Man U or Arsenal season ticket holders must feel who can't get hold of cup final tickets when they come along..At least all our season ticket holders got one..having said that, I would like to see loyalty points awarded to those attending cup games in the same way they do for away games.

I still remember that League Cup tie against Arsenal about 10 years back. £5 for adults, £1 for kids and it was a 46,000 crowd for a midweek game we had hardly any chance of winning.

If we keep doing the same thing, we'll not only get some back into the habit of going to the SoL, and therefore boost our gates, we'll get the next generation of fans as well.

Part of the reason NUFC get big crowds is all the NE kids who they converted to B&W on the back of Keegan's glory years. If we tie in cheap cup games with some cup success, we'll convert a load of the current generation of NE kids to the light side of the force and spare them years of True Geordie-like misery in the years to come.

Cash is scarce ATM, for many. You can't blame some for spending theirs on family, etc. before paying to see some of the ****e we've served up over the past few years. Payback time for the dross IMO and that starts with things like cheap cup tickets.

I am f**ked with flu type symptoms and seriously considered not going even tho I had prepaid for my SC seat. I am paying the price now but I was shocked at the poor attendance today. Thing is for me that was one of the best games we have seen there this season so those that didn't go missed out. Agree with the statement in bold it is exactly the same as 73 and to a degree 1992. The club say it had 80,000 calls for tickets on Monday well where the f**k were they today - gobshites

    rant over

    Nail firmly on head.

When we have Newcastle people on here, who don't travel a few miles to SJP, for every game, criticising Sunderland then we know the situation is laughable.

Because we support the CLUB, not the manager, not the players.

How has Ellis shown no commitment to the cup? Gus picked the team, the team won.

It's a cop out mate, not on your part due your location, but certainly on the part of many, as Somb mentioned, 21k for the quarter final v Chelsea, that was a full strength side, what was the excuse for that?

Get real man, did you really see that as commitment?

We took a flyer and it paid off because Southampton ****ed up ....... if Lambert hadn't embarrassed himself we'd be trudging down to St Mary's in a couple of weeks fielding a team worse than today.

Are you saying you'd definitely be there to 'support the CLUB' or do you have an excuse?

This actually works. Tie it in with extra merchandise etc then it's win win. That Arsenal game was my sons first game, granted he only lasted till half time. But took him to a couple of games toward the end of the season and the year after he had a season ticket. So it defo can have a positive impact.

Would I have went to St Marys? No, I wouldn't, but that's not the point here, this was a home game in a city of 350,000 people, not including Gateshead & Durham.

I said how has ELLIS shown no commitment, as per your post. Where does Ellis figure in team selection & media days?
