I am impresssed that your club has said they would extend and got on with it. Ours i cant see ever doing it. But, would you not of been better waiting to see if you went up this year, there could be a lot of empty seats next year and that cant help the atmosphere or the players.

we aren't paying for it uefa are because they need a minimum crowd of 30,000 for the super cup final so it wouldn't have made any sense to cancel it

I may be wrong here 4ever, but I don't think EUfA are paying for anything mate - the construction costs are down to CCFC alone. There will be a payment drawn from the attendance money and TV rights made to CCFC as a result of the stadium staging the Super Cup event, but that is a separate matter altogether.

This project has been budgeted at around the £12M mark, but I understand that somewhere in that figure an option to continue on with the Canton and Family stand projects has also been costed. Don't know what format that takes, but it was a part of the overall improvement projected to all three sides to create a 38,000 seat stadium.

Lifting the corner sections between the Ninian and Canton/Family stands to the same height would apparently take it close to 42,000. The existing two tier main Grandstand is another matter altogether, and could prove very costly to improve, but planning and infrastructure/access exists for up to 60,000 seats, although it was limited for the present stadium to 30,000 at the time of approval.

Waiting to see if we remained in the Prem was not an option - we were commited to the project with our application to stage the EUFA Super Cup regardless of which division we'd be playing in next season.

I don't think tans vision for the club is based on performances in a single season. His investment in the youth and training setups demonstrated that.

I'd be really surprised if UEFA were paying for the construction. It looks good from the pics though, hope they have extended the top to keep the guys at the front dry!

Nope, us in the first 9 or 10 rows will remain in the splash zone, could even be wrose with a higher roof.

We're used to it now though. All weather clothes and kitchen roll to wipe the seats dry or just take paper towels from the gents.

Bluey - with the weather predominately in the south west, you should join us half way up in the grandstand pal.

Another advantage is you have to deliberately turn around to see VT instead of having to face him.........<laugh>

More atmosphere in the Ninian Sparks. I've been in the hospitality suites behind the in the middle of the grand stand a few times and it can be like a morgue over there - getting a bit better though.

As for being able to see VT, when the sun is over the grandstand sometimes it's tough seeing the pitch let alone VT's cheery countenance.

Also, due to my advancing age and our relegation each home game now only costs me £10. And if I have about 4 hours spare each side of the game I can travel up and back on the bus for free. Happy days!!!

Do they allow cases of Special Brew on public transport?

That's one hell of a cantilever span on the new roof. <yikes>

Hope they've used plenty of fixings on that last outreach - wouldn't want Bluey to get brained when the wind gets up, I'd rather you just got wet..........<laugh>

Coming on nicely now - just waiting for the seats to go in...........<whistle><whistle>

Concerns appreciated Sparks. I'll have to take my hard hat with me on the bus.
