We can think what we like but at this time 16 points is the target. That target will not go up but it can go down which would be in our favour if and when that happens. I would say we understand what can happen more than anyone in this league, we are consistent in as much we are always among the top six challenging for promotion and we have two cup finals and a play off final to our credit. One could ask what other team can match that and if not why not? jck
Clearly you don't You have 75 points. Hull 68, Watford 66 and Palace 65 - all those have 8 games to play. Maximum for Hull is 92, Watford 90 and Palace 89. BUT Watford have to play Hull so one of them or both have to drop points. If Hull lose they can only get 89, if Watford lose they can only get 87 and if it is a draw Hull can get 91 and Watford 89. So whatever the result Hull and Watford cannot BOTH get to 90. So if you reach 90 you are CERTAIN to be promoted. So you need a maximum of 15 points not 16 - you should be hapy
He said it can only come down, there's one point without anyone playing............... I think 12 should be plenty and 9 will probably do.
But then we also have to factor in that we have to play both Hull and Watford So in effect we would need to get 15 points from only 7 games
You will be fine - decent run-in and other teams dropping points When you get there I imagine the side will change drastically - it will be tough, but I just hope that if things start poorly next season they stick with Malky (see Adkins and McDermott). Not sure the foreign owners will have any sense of loyalty to the man who got you there??
They have already said that every player will be given a chance to prove themselves if we got promoted. I'm assuming they include malky.
I'd forgotten about the 2 points per game target. Our recent blips, at home in particular, haven't helped that. However, we are still well on target for 80 points from 40 games. 2 wins from the next 2 games will see us pass that.
Can't wait till next season to see Cardiff and Swansea in 1st and 2nd positions in the Premiere League , predominant with Rich English Clubs .
It is funny when other club supporters visit us and tell us we are going up and good luck in the PL because I still think we are far from a sure thing. Anytime I dare to think we just may do it, I envision a 5 game losing streak. I am still worried as hell that the whole thing will fall apart!!! That's what following the City can do to you! One game at a time my friends
You are right and if it was Watford in your position I would be saying - no - wait till it is mathematically certain - however for the rest of us last weekend was the crunch and you came through and we did not. I would love to see Swansea and Cardiff top and second in the Prem - if only for a week
One win and three losses last week changed everything but if we lose the next game and they all win we are back where we started. All we can do is hope we win enough games however many that is and run the games down. Cardiff have never been in this position before during the second half of the season so there is nothing to compare this with. Being on top since November brings a different kind of pressure. We can hold on for at least another two games and that is all we can be certain about. jck
Stick a rocket up Bellamy's arse, and get him scoring, that should do the trick!.....................
