I just don't see the need for the comments to be honest. He's left now, so got what he wanted. If he was better he would have played, if he isn't good enough to play for the 1st team, or to get these high value transfers to Real/Barca...then he just has to suck it up.
Niko wanted to stick the boot into Harry for misusing him (and about 1/3 of the squad), but couldn't really do that now that Harry's been sacked? It's a thought...
Had he said that, he'd have some sympathy from fans. Expecting us to let Modric go to whoever he wanted regardless of cost will get him none.
Wasn't he annoyed 18 months ago because he wanted to leave, but we valued him at £7m and wouldn;t budge, even though there were a few clubs interested at bringing him in for around £5m? Either way, it's pretty unprofessional of him to go off on one about the club like that. Whilst some criticism can be justified, especially his lack of playing time (which is a valid criticism) going off on a multi-directional tirade isn't going to help his case much.
Come back when you can run 100m in less than 13 seconds Niko. Seems it was your poor attitude that kept you out of the team, even more than the fact that it was easier to use a calendar to time your sprints than a stopwatch. If you chose to play for a team that relies on fast breakaways, you chose wrong. Blame your agent.
Maybe if the fat kunt got off his arse, got some fitness together, and applied himself he might have got a game. Lazy body with a lazy mind.
Kranjcar really has got a bloody cheek. This is the player who initially refused to relocate from his South coast base when he first joined us, incurring numerous club finesfor failing to meet the terms of his contract, until the penny finally dropped and he moved. This is also the player who was given a rigid fitness/rehabilitation programme to fulfil in the summer when he was injuredand failed to stick to it, returning for pre-season training hopelessly overweight and unfit. This is also the player who was given a chance in the FAC game with Charlton, yet decided it was in his best interests to throw a strop and do squat diddly all bloody game. It used to make me smile when on the old 606, people described Kranjcar as the "model professional". My arse, the guy is nothing but a self centred prat who if he sees the chance, will deviously scheme to get the best for himself. At long last, the public are now seeing him in his true light.
Whats Krancjar been taking?....... Acid? lol His comments are so delusional they belong on the Mouser board... I used to like Kranky as a player, skillfull with an eye for goal but he was just way too slow for the PL. He should keep his gob shut however, and concentrate on being a big fish in the Ukrainian league.
Er...excuse me for stating the obvious but isn't the whole point of contracts, the difficulty to break them? Sorry Krancar, you just lost one. Levy has agreed to let Modric go, but demands a certain amount of profit from his purchases, this is what a good chairman is supposed to do. Chelsea previously offered £40m as, allegedly, did PSG recently. This means Modric is worth £40m. Inflated market or not. Either Real Madrid can afford it or they can't. Maybe his value will be less next year when his contract has three years left on it rather than four. Or maybe some good negotiation can happen. It works both ways too. Adebayor has a contract to be paid a certain wage for a certain time frame. There is nothing wrong with expecting Man City to honour that, nor to attempt to negotiate a similar wage with us. Either we can afford it or we can't, or we negotiate a way forwards that works for all parties involved. No need for brat behavior or using words like 'condemning'. Really? Look at how Jan Vertonghen handled his move. Very respectfully. Although he wanted to move here, and made it clear. He still trained with Ajax and waited for the negotiation to reach a point were it suited both parties. I'm glad that Levy counters this sense of entitlement that some clubs have regarding the signing of players.
Exactly, he wanted to come to us but still turned up to training with Ajax despite them trying to renege on their contract with him.
As a Chelsea fan I have to say bravo to Mr Levy. I have been saying for a long time that these overpaid, spoiled brats called players have too much power and get their own way too often. They throw their toys out of the pram when a club comes along offering them more money and their current club doesnt buckle right away, its pathetic. Like someone said, If you arent planning on staying at a club for the long haul, then why in the hell would you sign a 6 year contract?! If you do, then dont piss and moan when the club try to enforce it when you are less than halfway through the term of the contract. He must have known that he was using Spurs as a stepping stone to a bigger club, if that was the case he should have sought a 3 or 4 year contract, which would have made his position stronger and forced Spurs to sell him for a more reasonable price for fear of losing him on a bosman, but like a tool he signed a 6 year contract, so I have no sympathy for Modric whatsoever. And Krancjar should show more class to be honest.
