Glad I made you laugh Westlake, we all need a bit of cheering up being Ipswich fans. The statement was meant to say that even though we'd all love Hyam to become a regular for us if we can sign better than him than that's just unlucky, not meant as a direct comparison between the two. I had little time for a well thought out post and so wrote quickly before I went out.
ego-coker? seriously lads, are you trying to self-destruct, cos that's what it looks like from the outside.
More like panic buying I think Supers. Just have no idea what our plan is at all. Ive reached that stage where I will continue to go but have little faith in what they are trying to achieve.
i'm sure you're right tractorbhoy. he's not actually a bad player but you've got a 'car crash' of a dressing room right now. what are the chances of bryan klug getting the managers gig when jewell gets the chop? good shout?
I think he's a very good addition to the squad but hes only on a 3 month contract to go with 3 other central midfield loans - it cant be good can it? Klug - brilliant coach ut that doesnt make you a manager, as we have all seen in the past. I actually hope we keep him at youth development. The results wont show for a few years but I have faith, which is hard currently, that that part of the club is relatively safe. Everybody says we are lacking youth at the moment but we havent cared about it for the last 3 years so its not surprising that they are not making the grade currently. We now have a framework in place so lets build on it.
problem is we have; dumb, dumb & dumber running our club.....As Town fans all we ask is for some sort of plan going forward, that we stick to...is that to much to ask.? 99% of fans realise we are not going to make promotion over the next few years but if we thought the boss/es had a more long term plan for impovement we would all buy into that, rather than this ****e we are putting up with at the moment. How jewell is still in charge is beyond me, we can't even hold our own in this division anymore, the same can be said of clegg, neither is adding any value what so ever to the club..!
at least you're getting another new keeper hoppers, again, on loan today easy to say of course, but surely its just a matter of time before he gets the boot? i don't think he can survive, no matter what. if you string three decent results together, nothing will really have changed. i am stunned he is still in charge. it can be viewed one of two ways - you can be pleased that you don't have a trigger-happy owner, but you can be disappointed that he doesn't seem to know when its obvious to everyone that the time to pull the trigger has been and gone some time ago.
I wouldnt mind having a long term viewing owner if that was replicated throughout the club. I would actually have a bit more faith if we were sticking with our own squad with the belief that we were in a rut but our current squad just makes me want to weep. Its all loans, loans loans. What happens if we win the next 5 with a squad made up of 7 loanees. 2 players are here for a month only. Wellens is NOT allowed to stay longer as he is a key part of leicesters squad (read the article on Evening Star that said he was banned from joining any club currently outside the bottom 4 as they didnt want him to help promotion rivals!) so 5 wins and then another rebuild.
Well I did you tell you boys that we are a complete and utter shambles! Shame you didn't want to listen to me back then!
the loan system CAN be a good thing, if used with intelligence. stoke did it the year they went up with a couple of crafty loanees on their books. we did it too. a couple of talented players, maybe unaffordable to buy permanently but which improve your squad can be a good thing, a revelation in fact, but stocking up on loan players from across the country is never a good idea. it seems like squad padding in your case, as you were so short on numbers.
CLEGG OUT! JEWELL OUT! HUTCHINGS OUT! MCCARTHY OUT! CLEGG OUT! JEWELL OUT! HUTCHINGS OUT! MCCARTHY OUT! CLEGG OUT! JEWELL OUT! HUTCHINGS OUT! MCCARTHY OUT! We should now demand that these clowns are removed from our club. Protests are now a certainty if these clowns are still here after Saturday!
Dont think there will be protests and even if there were I think they would be aimed in the wrong direction.
or is it because 3 months takes us to Jan and he is just putting himself in the shop window and doesnt really want to be here?
Too many fence sitters like you TB for there to be protests! I was involved in the fans protests that got rid of John Duncan and we are now in a far worse situation than that! We need to take action to save our club or is it the "Ipswich Way" to be so nice and understanding while our club is being raped?
I wouldnt be in any protest against the likes of Jewell, Hutching and McCarthy becuase my argument is about the way the club is run by Evans and Clegg. But on the point I was making, I cant see protests as only the North Stand are that way inclined and a lot of them have done what you have done and given up! You can call it 'voting with you feet' or you could call it being a 'fair weather fan' just unlike others I dont cast opinions on other based on what is posted here.
Ok so I'm a fairweather fan after supporting the Town for 38 years including 25 as a season ticket holder! I now live in West Sussex which means a 200 mile round trip every home game, a tank of petrol and food on top for a family of 4! If the football was worth watching then I would still be going but after last season I vowed never to set inside PR again until Jewell was gone! I guess I won't be coming back this season by the looks of things and neither will a load of my mates who also made the same vow! If there was an organised protest taking place I would be down there like a shot as direct protest is the only thing these nutters are going to understand!
JWM I wasnt suggesting anything about any you or any other individuals. I dare say the thousands of fans who dont turn up these days dont for a number of reasons. Finances, other commitments and circumstances along with the genuine protest cases and those that are truly fairweather fans. Its an expensive day out and a free choice to turn up and your/ Spanish/ San Diego's (as examples of people who doesnt turn up) opinions are as valid as mine with my season ticket. Im sure that everyone who posts on here does so with a genuine care for the club. EDIT - JWM just realised I could have worded my initial post better. I wasnt trying to infer that you were a fair weather supporter just that you cant tell what actions people may take based on postings from here. No offence meant mate.
