Yes but, as I've said before, being a mid-table Prem side increases your chances of winning cups. Millwall and Bradford's exploits will be all but forgotten in a few months because, as expected, they won nowt. Because they couldn't compete with "mid-table mediocrity (from) the Prem". Let's get to that position first, then worry about winning things. Learn to walk before we can run.
The Forest game the following season too, the one with Schmeichel's 'red card.' Also the 3-2 win over Southampton- these were both early in the season but big games at the time nonetheless.
This Nige Pearson promoting Hull possibility has reminded me of the infamous "Avram Grant: Millwall legend" banner flown over Upton Park when the 'ammers came down.. we should organise summat like that should old flat-top do us the favour.. C'mon u Foxes..
... all very well for you young lads of course ... I've seen a losing FA Cup final and two losing semi-finals - OK two league cup final wins and a defeat ... but lifetimes are short ... my old man got to see four losing cup finals bless him but no wins ... (alright we did win the first league cup but I don't think that was a Wembley final) ... now talking of Wembley finals - the most exciting cup final I ever saw was second division (Championship) Sunderland beating the then mighty Leeds United ... promotion followed - now that's the way to do it!
Ha ha. At least you were of an age to appreciate the league cup wins after years in the wilderness. I didn't start following Leicester (and football in general) until 1996 (Euro '96 converted be from a hater to a lover). I genuinely believed that our first league cup win was simply the start. Then the F.A. Cup. The league. Even the Champion's League. Why not? If only I knew. Never thought I'd be watching Leicester in League One!
