What is the point of this thread, honestly? Leicester will try and win the game because they're professional not because of us.
i'm sure he'll throw the match like gus poyet did out of spite, because as we all know the footballing world revolves around us
I did not think for one minute Brighton threw the game , nor do I think the footballing world revolves around us , my world of football revolves around us though .
I had a sneaky feeling after RL's failure to renew NP's contract that he might just try and help the Hammers on weds , but having read this quote from him -
We still want two performances as it is important we finish as positively as possible. - I am reassured .
In fact I still wonder were we might be if we had kept him .........
Those were my reasons for posting this OK ??????

We never treated him badly, we just couldn't afford his wage demands so he left, on perfectly amicable grounds as far as I'm aware.
If I remember correctly he didn't demand high wages at all. Saints was his first real stab at management and would have worked on low wages. It was more of a Lowe decision to clear out what he could and go for his Dutch Total football vision. ha ha.
Lowe is no longer here so why would he hold a grudge against the club. He was well liked by the fans and gets a good reception from us. His players will also be playing for their contracts as I am sure he will be rebuilding in the summer as what he has now is still mainly Svens side. Those that roll up their sleeves and put in a good shift, in what is a meaningless game for them, increase their chances of staying at the club.

He'd had a pretty impressive career before us, keeping Carlisle up in the FL (remember Jimmy Glass's goal?), assisting Stuart Pearce with the england under 21 team, and caretaking at West Brom and Newcastle.
I think after he kept us up he (justifiably) asked for more money when his rolling contract expired and there's no question Poortvliet was a cheaper option.
I could be wrong but that's my understanding of how it happened.
Don't know why he would have any bad feelings towards us to be honest, but I'm sure even if he did he would want to beat west ham.

Nigel Pearson's Leicester are one of the main reasons I am so anxious for us to get out. I think they'll be awesome next season. This guy is a good manager, and will want his team to beat West Ham to show how good they are. (I hope, gulp!)
As for the question of his tenure at SMS, I was gutted that he went. He was tactically streets ahead of Burley (OK, so is my cat) I don't think we'd have gone down, but if the financial catastrophe that overwhelmed us hadn't occurred we'd still have a board with no ambition and would probably look a bit like Coventry.

Though IMHO it was Because Leon Crouch who stepped aside , had pleaded with RL to keep NP , RL stuck two fingers up at him , childish spiteful reacton that cost us BIG TIME IMHO .
Fans bear grudges and have incredibly long memories...footballers and managers are more pragmatic because they move clubs all the time. Pearson will be professional and do what he can for his own club. Rupert Lowe is no longer here (praise the Lord) and I would imagine that Pearson thinks fondly of Southampton and, as long as it doesn't affect his present club, would be quite pleased that we get promoted.
Especially Pearson! He chases the money around like no-one else I've ever seen. The Pearson/Leicester/Hull love triangle illustrates this clearly.
After leaving Leicester for more money at Hull then going back to Leicester as soon as they offered him more, you can surely see why I think his leaving us has more to do with his ego/bank manager than anything else. Good manager, but no loyalty whatsoever.

He did not want to leave leicester , the new chairman ( M Mandaric ) did not want him .
New people came in & he went back . IMHO Money is NOT his main concern .
Well, it sure looks that way, especially leaving Hull to go back to Leicester, when he was agitating for a move in TV interviews. Though I take your point about Mandaric not fancying him.
I just feel sorry for the players he took with him to Hull from Leicester the first time, like Fryatt, who are now left behind in Hull!

Anyway, we've got no beef with the other Nige, he did well by us. Be interesting to see how it pans out tomorrow, but its in our hands so no need to worry.

How can you feel sorry for players on about 8k, just because they play for Hull?.
