Pearson leaves one team to go back to old team so as to get back into premier league. Ha ha how ironic
Its going to be plastered all over the papers tomorrow regardless, although looking at this forum and FT, it looks like we would rather keep him, then again Filberto hasn't come on yet
Sorry Gangsta only just noticest you reply, i don't think we over achieved because we are average i just think there is better teams who should have made things alot harder for us and Watford. Other than Palace who dropped off 3 or 4 weeks ago no team had pushed us since arguably Christmas/January time.
I think that was his last ever game in charge of LCFC & as much as I hate to say it, the last for KS between the sticks too. I would like both to stay but I think I ain´t going to get my way. Who would replace NP ???
We were second at the start of Feb. This league has been very tough this season, that's why we've seen the lowest points total ever make the play-offs and the highest points total ever get relegated. Some good sides have been made to look average but, give or take, the top six is about right.
Ask and you shall receive LOL - I am pretty certain (admittedly only in my own mind!) that if we had not got into the play-offs with that dramatic winner at Forest then Nigel Pearson would have gone. Now I'm not so sure - I haven't changed my mind about Nigel - I'm still not convinced about his ability to manager big name players and at the top level - but if the owners stick with him fair enough. Would I (personally) prefer Martin O'Neil - yes - for the very same reasons - but neither he nor Neil Lennon might be interested - one thing for sure, whoever is in charge next season we'll all start off behind them, fully committed.
Second at the start of Feb is why your always so strongly favoured for Promotion, wonder how many teams have been in the top 2 at the start of Febuary then struggled to go up. You say the final standings are about right but surely if your doing that well with 2/3 of the season gone finishing 6th isn't really good enough?
but to say we have over achieved is doing Steve Bruce a disservice, maybe your ladyboys should employ a decent manager.
We only got to 2nd after a sensational run. We dropped to eighth after a bad run. Fifth is about the average for the season. It's easy to look at it when things are going well and think that's how it should have been all season. In reality, you have to look at where you deserve to finish over the course of 46 games, not 20ish. Most of our toughest league games were in the second half of the season.
On the contrary, I'm saying he worked magic with the limited materials he had. I even compared him to O'Neill in that regard - although to match his achievements you'll need to stay in the Prem for eight, get to three cup finals and win two of them. Bruce boy can do that no problem I'm sure.
