Wasn't necessarily saying that they were, just that I liked Nigel as our manager very much, and to have him back, would be a good thing.
Again, I said I miss his interviews, and his general positivity. Nothing about meeting our ambitions. The question was whether I would like to see him back, I said yes. Will Saints want him back? Not at the moment.
Eh!? The Saints of old for me was the 2nd half of the last game of the season still not being sure what division we'd be playing next year!!!! It was bloody exciting tho!
I think it would be a bad thing. Both Nigels were excellent, but that's water under the bridge. I wouldn't have WGS back either.
A bad thing? Crikey, don't know how anyone can say it would be bad. It wouldn't necessarily improve our position, but it wouldn't be bad.
I would want to win it , at least the Nigels would have treated the cup with some respect and fielded our strongest team .
Yeah, I'd kinda rather have my excitement at the other end of the league if you don't mind. I find people's enjoyment of relegation battles slightly warped. It's anxiety, not excitement. You can lose your league status or gain nothing. Not a big payoff for me.
That's the very reason. I'll have to check the date. Did we just do a time-slip on this forum of about 10 years..? Why all the sudden acceptance of mediocrity..?
Yes, comfy suits me fine too. Now tell me, how is selling our best players and not being fazed by losing a great manager supposed to make me feel comfy? Were we comfy when we were in a relegation battle EVERY year? Were we comfy when we finally went down to the Championship? Were we comfy when we nearly lost Saints forever? I am more "comfy" now than I've been for years. And I don't want glory, in the sense that I want to become like those arrogant Chelsea, Arsenal, ManU etc fans I see and hear shouting in the streets at pub-closing time. But I DO very much like success - that warm, quietly happy feeling that those arrogant thugs are eating their words for a change, and that they, even they, are supporting our players in the world cup. Yes, comfy suits me fine.
we finished 10th when he was in charge! in fact that's a step in the right direction. We got his career going again last time too! and he went to spurs and failed there
What the ****? You wouldn't want Saints to win a major trophy. That is really strange and you should NEVER want Saints to lose.......unless it meant relegating Portsmouth. That's the only exception.
