Most of what you’ve said is right but I think there are other factors. Brexit and its economic impact being one of them. Covid on top of that. They have made things hard economically. Have they made the right decisions from it ? Been ballsy enough? No which is where you’re right. I voted Labour last time because of the voting system and circumstance in the ward I lived then. I honest struggle to pick, but know who not to pick.

And be paid less in the process? No I do not work public sector. I was the only man on the job, got all work done in the required timescale. Client very satisfied, I was very happy with the remuneration I received. Impossible to do the job any quicker. And I resent the implication that it could have been.

I would say it's normally the opposite. 0% rise for no imp or a bigger payrise for prod improvements, that's how it worked in the companies i worked at.

You have no idea what the job I was doing is, and it could not have been done any quicker without employing more men. Employing more men costs more money which therefore means less productivity. My job can not be done by a machine I am a tradesman. Once again I resent the implication that the job could be done any quicker. As I am paid by the hour I would be robbing the client. I did the job in the required timescale and paid a lot of tax in the process to keep pensioners in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

so you are saying there is no new tools on the market that would make you job quicker and easier.
Two of my brothers work in the building trade and every now and then get new better tools or find a way of doing the job quicker. i showed them some ways like
Break down how you do a task into small chunks, is there any steps you duplicate or that could be removed etc.
