Don't agree with anything you said there. He hasn't got us wrapped around his finger, no where near that, we all like him because he is different to the generic managers that currently reside in the Premier League and are all like sheep. He is different and I presonally love it, I'm so, so happy that he is the manager of my club and not Big Sam who is the most overrated manager in the Premier League along with the most overrated player in the Premier League, Andy Carroll. What has Sam ever achieved??

Adkins has achieved 4 promotions, that's not too shabby.

I don't know what you've got against Adkins, he is positive, not smug unlike boring Sam *chew* *chew* *blah* *blah*.

I think we have to be honest and say that Adkins does usually have this smug, self-satisfied smirk on his face. I can understand why other fans dislike him.

The reality is though, I think his face is just kind of built that way. I've seen him talking about things having nothing to do with football and where a smirk would be wholly inappropriate and where he would have no reason to smirk.... but he still has that same smug expression.

I am sorry , bull**** baffles brains , did Clough read a poem out , Ferguson ? Revie ? Dalglish ? Did they do it in the start of their career ? As nice as he is he is losing the plot , just pick the team talk about signing players , talk about anything connected with football but please what is that crap ?
Football/business has no place for sentimentality like that .

And if we lose tomorrow you can count fans without the balls to say it now will say what the **** was he doing that for , his ego must be huge as well to use a poem like that .

Oh you just won't see passed your own lack of understanding will you? Was Gordon Strachqn any good? Did he do weird interviews?

Could anyone understand Dalglish's short, bizarre comments in interviews recently or at the beginning? Come to think about it, you keep citing Dalglish's yet his most recent stint wasn't too good anyway.

I don't think you understand Nigel's style and management technique and you are not prepared to try to as you can only see one way, the way you have seen before. That's a shame. What you should do is write to Nigel ask him for the books he reads, and read them and then try to understand.

What some SunTzu ? Sayings and poems will only inspire if the person understands ? Or they will only work if their is hope , it has not worked so far and thats what I am going on , he was a broken lost boy last week and now he is giving defiant poems to the press and Cortese , why ?

Load of phychobabble , just play ACDC Babk in Black and give the players a huge dose of man the **** up and play for your Southampton futures because as sure as **** your value will go down and that magic transfer will be in doubt if we get relegated .
If that does not inspire a good performance then I dont know what will .

Lol. Yeah check the table. Nice prediction before a game like Spurs! I predict that we are in the relegation zone.

I don't think you understand what he's doing? Seeing as you tell me I act like a teacher, you must be the little boy who when he doesn't understand class topics, he seeks attention by misbehaving and disrupting the other pupils.

    Do you understand?

Fabulous fella. That is truly inspirational. You should copy-rite that and put it in a book. Lets have a competition to name the book.

I do , I do all the predictions before the game , I did last week and got that right that we would be hammered with that formation (check go on) , if he repeats that crap I will predict the same . If he copies this (providing they are fit of course)
    Gazzaniga
    Clyne
    Hooiveld
    Yoshida
    Fox
    Puncheon
    Davis
    Schneiderlin
    Lallana
    Rodriguez
    Lambert

    4-4-1-1 then we may get a point 1-1 .

There we go sweetcheeks , you can take that to the bank .

So you admire his optimism , his speeches and positive attitude and yet predict defeat <laugh> What do predict for tomorrow ? A glorious positive but yet another setback ?

Ok mate. If you care to look a little further you will see I apologise for the style of my post, even if I do stand by the points I made.

I can see why you don't like Allardyce. I didn't like him either until he took charge of West Ham. My stance certainly changed on him after a while though. The more I read about him and hear from him the more he impresses me. He gives the fans a strange sense of "everything is going to be ok" which after years of mis-management and uncertainty is most welcome.

Allardyce has never "achieved" anything I suppose, although he did take Bolton into Europe which was no small task. I would also add, look what happened to Bolton, Newcastle and Blackburn after he left those clubs. They all nose dived and I highly doubt any of them would have gone down had he stayed in charge.

With regards to Andy Carrol. Well, I disagree. Ok he might not be a £35m striker, but he is a a great forward and I doubt you would have said no?

I am not criticising Adkins as a manager. At lower leagues he has been outstanding. But in the top flight, I have questioned his credentials I admit. It's more him as a person I dislike. But as someone above mentioned, that smirk is quite possibly just the way his face is formed!

There is no harm in reciting a poem in a press conference. But if you're going to, at least hold your head up, say it at a controlled pace and with confidence. It's more the way he did it that I found cringey.

Anyway. I'm sure you don't care what some West Ham fan thinks of your manager. Just thought I would explain myself.

I'm off out. Have a good day Saints.

    <ok>

Tricker, your comments inferring that people don't know how much he is into sports science show me how much you are inside your west ham box. There's nothing wrong with that by the way.

Big Sam was probably the second manager to really undertake and embrace sports science in this country. Wenger was the first, but Sam was certainly leading the charge in terms of British managers using it, when he was at Bolton. I have always seen him at the forefront of this and admire that; it is his persona I am not keen on.

I wonder how much interest you paid in really finding out about Nigel before last season. Once you have spend a few years looking at him, you can be in a position to comment credibly. I'm not having a dig just understanding that fans often don't appreciate someone until they are at their club; this is the case with you and Sam. Sometimes it's hard to really appreciate something until you are truly paying attention to it.
