Nigel Adkins sacked 3 years ago this weekend

Bates top for me. Brought us from 3rd Division into Europe. Winning the Cup was the best single day in football ever but if you're looking at overall contribution to the club, Bates' will never be surpassed. And, of course, Lawrie left us with some rather disparaging words about the supporters.

Adkins definitely my favourite though, if thats what we're talking about.

Funnily enough, I know everybody hates Branfoot but he was the one manager I knew personally as he ran the course when I did my FA coaching badge. He actually was a very likeable chap and passionate about football (and Saints). I know that we tend to not like his tactics but I never think he deserves the vitriol he still seems to receive.

Redknapp though, thats a different matter........

I don't think the Dutch guys were as bad as they are made out to be either. Considering the team they were forced to play, basically kids, they played some remarkably attractive football. Albeit they were unable to defend or score goals but these are minor points. I remember the Sky commentators on 2 occasions suggesting that our passing game was reminiscent of Arsenal (honestly).
