Nigel was the guest on this morning's review show - as Fran mentioned elsewhere. :)

Just a quick round-up of his points...


- Leicester, QPR and Sunderland to go down
- Burnley are battling, Leicester have too much to do, QPR are hit and miss, Sunderland look bad
- Asked about his time at Saints, said he loves the club, the people there and the supporters
- Said to get used to seeing Saints challenging for Europe
- That's where Saints are going
- Everyone from Katharina to the kitman is ready for Saints to become a European club
- Players will continue to come and go
- But, Southampton are built on the firmest of firm foundations
- They will just march on
- City can still win the title
- It's all about desire
- They need to play their own game, control the controllables
- That will put the pressure back on Chelsea
- If Chelsea can handle it, then they win the title
- If not, then City need to take their opportunity
- Can Saints make top four? Yes.
- The teams around Southampton are all playing each other soon
- Saints need to hold their nerve, hopefully they do it

I like NIgel Adkins always have.....but.....he is not a premier league manager in my view. Sorry guys....just my opinion. He is though a bloody good championship or league one manager although what happened at Reading is a mystery....a very nice guy.

I know what you mean Beddy, but managers like Nigel start from a disadvantage in the first place. Generally, in order to get experience in the PL they bring a team up from the Championship. Nigel was unlucky in the sense that Saints were extremely ambitious. He could have brought another club up like Leicester, or indeed Reading, and might have stayed a lot longer at those clubs. As it was, when he was fired from Saints it was possible/probable Saints would have stayed up anyway. So I think Nigel might have PL potential, but he's unlikely to get the chance unless it is with a team which is almost certain for the drop.

And I don't think Sunderland would be a good fit for Nigel. In fact, I'm not sure if any manager is a good fit for Sunderland.

I love him on Twitter. It was his birthday last week and he got a lot of happy birthdays, personally tweeted hundreds of people back to say thankyou.

I have to say that I must be getting a bit cynical in me old age but I did raise a bit of a cheer when I heard Poyet got the bullet. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.............:emoticon-0130-devil:emoticon-0130-devil I totally agree that is a definite no no for our Nigel!!

Maybe "Fat Sam" is the bloke to do it!! He will certainly kick plenty of backsides to achieve his goals!!!
