Brexit Jobs Threat At Credit Card Giant Visa An agreement to keep transaction data in Europe could force Visa to relocate British jobs after a Brexit, Sky News understands. Hundreds of British-based jobs at the credit card giant Visa could be forced to relocate to the Continent in the wake of last week's EU referendum. Sky News has learnt that an agreement in the recent £17.5bn takeover of Visa's European operations by its American sister company included a stipulation that data from Visa card transactions should not leave Europe. A source in Frankfurt said that German regulators, and possibly others elsewhere in the EU, were expected to push for Visa's UK-based data centre operations to be shifted to a market within the EU once Britain leaves the trading bloc. Well over 1000 people work for Visa in London, according to a spokeswoman for the company, with hundreds of them engaged in data centre-related activities.
Their call centres are already in India. Their data centres are spread around the globe for fault tolerance purposes. This is more ****e being reported as "news" and Eddie is just the guy to tell us who's 'leaking' this so-called news. Over to you, Eddie. Eddie?
Won't happen. Leading economist Sir Rupert Cooley-Fisk, who happens to be my pal, reckons the panic will be over in 4-6 weeks.
You can rest assured, my friend. This is the very same guy who invested big in bicycle pumps, Teddy Ruxpin, and cocaine.
Of course it will stabilise. Rich ****s will want to be making money so something will be worked out. I'm more interested in the movement of people angle although it doesn't really effect me as I have Irish Citizenship.
I'll be heading over to your manor during the summer holidays. I'll let you know when I've arrived, but you'll probably be away on business. In Mozambique.
I'm looking at Carrickfergus. I think the family will enjoy the castle and the surrounding area, and Belfast will be close enough for the airport etc.
Go somewhere further north. Cushendall or round there. Still be less than an hour from the Airport and the Castle.
I visited Carrickfergus in 2002 and had a great time. I was a drinker back then, though. I'd love to see Dunluce, but the 3/4 days may not be enough to cram everything in.
Well it was Ponders who mentioned both. We've 2 Airports funny enough. Ones named after an alcoholic wife beater
