POSSIBLY THINKING play in prem but relegated then signed again by another team ... maybe a team outside of the bottom 4-5 !

I agree, however the draw of the PL was too great.
A bit like knight coming to us from L1 Derby.

Maybe he’s thinking that a bit of experience in the Prem would attract bigger clubs later on.

Yep I said all along he would be a disaster. Having lots of friends in Norwich was warned he was one of the worst managers for football they ever had. I imagine Forest fans saying exactly the same!

Agree with most comments, and I said a while ago that Bournemouth would probably have not been his first choice of a Premiership club to join when you consider some of the other names that could have come in for him.

But at the end of the day, Bournemouth appear to be the only club who were serious about really wanting to sign him.

If I was a Bournemouth fan, knowing it's likely to be a battle to avoid the bottom 3 again this year, I'd be less than impressed about signing a young and fairly inexperienced striker from the Championship rather than an older striker who has perhaps fallen down the pecking order at somewhere like Man City, Chelsea or whoever.

It's all swings and roundabouts I guess

Obviously his thoughts, if he can do well against Prem teams it’s gets him in the spotlight. I still think long term he’d do better biding his time for one more season. But seeing the colour of the money and a chance to play against some of the best players in the world must be very hard for a young man to turn down. I had this discussion with my brother at the match Saturday, my brother was adamant he wouldn’t go and certainly not to Bournemouth.

Money Money Money it makes the idea of kicking a bag off air around even nicer.

    We would all do it.

I new Scotty was going for me it is how the club move forward that counts-interesting couple of months ahead.

I really think Knight can take his role in a different way.

Benarous excites me, if he can get back to pre injury levels. A very exciting prospect, Scott going opens opportunities for others to step up.

I have been off the radar for about 3 days and come back to find Bristol City in a kind of whirlpool of dissent. Perhaps the real dealings of our club are being shown the light of day which has been my opinion for years and that includes everybody but the manager being included in major decisions. To be blunt I think Nigel could walk now he knows for sure that he will never ever have an opinion in anything important. Steve Lansdown has always been the spanner in the works and despite his money being the life blood of the club he has forever been it's nemesis. The image of us vying for success is now somewhat dampened again by corporate decisions being made seemingly without consultation with the on-field boss, and that for me is a death knell for us getting a class manager like Pearson in the future. Major disappointment for me to read this garbage about my team and if I'm really honest my will to continue to waste my time supporting Bristol City is fast reaching the end of a very long road. A nice win against Oxford does not temper my thoughts when the media dialogue was all bad news on many fronts like Scott possibly being sold below par, and the injuries to Wiemann and Conway.

Maybe all this is a storm in a teacup?
We all knew Scott was for sale for £25m
Apparently Bournemouth have matched our price (£25m)
    We got what we wanted.

Nige is upset that he wasn't kept in the loop - and I get it - THAT is the bad thing here. He was of the opinion that Scott was staying because the price hadn't been met and nobody told him otherwise.

Good post, well put, personally although really pissed off, I will always follow them, even if a bit more from afar these days, these kind of decisions don’t encourage me to go to BS3 though.

I don’t blame him whatsoever, you have to take the chances when they come along.. short career plus one bad injury wherever he is could be the end.. good luck to the lad I say..

If you want the best from people, especially the guy charged with bringing success on the pitch then at least have the decency to keep him abreast of the situation, with previous managers we’d be bemoaning and blaming them. NP has made it very plain it was nothing to do with him, which begs the question about similar situations in the past. That’s what’s annoying me, that we’ve been fed bullshit all this time. It’s not just about Scott, but are we really serious (SL I mean) about wanting promotion, or is he happy as we are, because if he is he should have the decency to tell the fans the truth.

I don’t blame Scott, he has to do what he thinks is best for his career, if he has ambitions of playing at the top level and potentially moving up to the senior England squad he has to be seen. Don’t blame the lad.

I wish Alex all the best no matter what he does as he alone makes the decisions to make his life better. Selling our best players appears never to stop and that in itself dictates our future and I can't see any hope of moving upwards towards the Premiership. Lansdown is afraid of his own shadow and using FFP and club finances as an excuse is just a front that tempers his supposed desire to reach for the stars. Sad state of affairs that has been our downfall in regards to producing a competitive team. Long live excuses and apathy for the task at hand.

Exactly - even though its happened to Coppell, Cotts, LJ and now Pearson, so the situation is hardly unique.
I wasn't trying to argue that NP shouldn't feel upset - just saying that the Alex Scott price was £25m and as soon as we were offered that he was gone. We got the MONEY we wanted. Financially we're ok.
Of course the manager has been treated badly - he was bypassed and that sucks.
