Banksy
'We all make mistakes I suppose.. I think he has been brought back down to earth with a massive bump.

Sometimes you need to find the team that is the right 'fit' for you..'

Wise words.

ps - Let's hope we have a sell on clause.

All about money as per usual.....yawn

Don't agree with this AN, I doubt Cardiff will be paying him much (if anything) more than WHAM.

I think it was more of a case of his agent saying to Nicky get the hell out of Dodge last season as I am pretty sure that it would have got pretty untenable for him to have stayed in Bristol after last January judging by some of the extremely primitive and juvenile stuff eminating from some of our fans. I am sure that the abuse he had already received before January would have looked like Kindergarden stuff had he remained.

The "joke" about the accent was ill advised but probably a reaction to what had already come his way - quite unjustifiably IMO as he has a right to ply his trade where he choses, just like you and I.

I expect his agent said get out of the crossfire and go to WHUM and lets see how things work out if as expected, they go up. Nicky now knows that he is going to be well down the list so I expect it is more about wanting to play regularly and rebuilding his career (quality goal last night) rather than play the odd cameo role and in his shoes, I think I would have done exactly the same.

In Cardiff, assuming he goes, he has every chance of getting back to his best as their brand of football will suit his game down to a tee and we could well see him contending for top scorer again. I don't hold the grudge that some do Bristol City is MY religion, not his so good luck to him (so long as he comes 2nd to SB)....

You could see it coming as West Ham have said that they wanted Andy Carroll but had to free up money and wages so sold us Baldock and Maynard is off to Cardiff. Two strikers out and one in.

I just hope that when we sold Maynard we had some sort of sell on clause and we will be seeing more money coming in. Last I heard West Ham still owed us some money on him but dont know if that was taken care of when we signed Baldock.

It wasnt entirely Maynards fault or his agent.

I said on another thread that we should have fired him out as soon as he wouldn't sign - same as we should have done with Basso all those years ago. There should be no place at our club for 'reluctant' players.

I hope Cisse is gone now too.

You snooze - you lose.

What the **** is going through Nicky's mind?! Things didn't end on the best terms and according to Baldock Maynard only had good things to say about us. Now West Ham have reportedly accepted a bid from Franchise FC for his services!

The guy certainly knows how to burn his bridges, and quite frankly I don't see what he has to gain from this move apart from being back down here. He's barely given WHU a chance and if he won't fight for his place then he'll send a bad message to anyone stupid enough to pay for him.

Looks like his kids will be speaking Welsh
<laugh>

Who cares, Maynard is long gone. Time will tell who is/was the better deal. Maynard could change a game with a strike from nothing, but was not too clever in the box, which is why the Championship is probably his level. Baldock looks much more of a fox in the box which should create more chances and also hopefully improve our penalty ratio.
