The quote is from the link Ed provided. OK, so there was a hint of ribbing in that post, but in truth, all but a handful of clubs are feeder clubs. If a premiership team came in for one of our players, we'd probably lose them.
^ bamba.... but our finances are ridiculous. Just think to they days where we were losing the likes of gareth williams to watford!!
genuinely, if i was him though i wouldnt come, id go prem on big wages and big signing fee next year. More money, better club. 10 months wait for a whole career.
Same here Ed, makes sense all round with his new baby on the way etc. Still can't get my head around why we've knocked back all these very good offers though, if this latest (rumoured) offer gets the knock back then I'll be gobsmacked.
^ because you know we are desperate and on wednesday will pay a lot more!! if it backfires and we get fed-up and sign eg yakubu though, its very very poor business sense!!! And by leaving it so late you cant reinvest...
But if it works then it will be seen as a masterstroke. Any 're-investment' was always likely to be in the loan market for us, we were always facing a season of consolidation with all the deadwood left over from our previous 2 managers.
youve played it well, i just hope it doesnt backfire on you. I doubt it would though, we are desperate.
Sorry to drag this maynard thread up again but something caught my eye on twitter. Tweets below are between 2 agents. I read into this that Maynard was pushing for a move but not hard enough and Leicester did get permission to do a deal but was too late it seemed! Agent_mb FootballAgent @Itkagent1962 I agree mate was easy move...by way maynard to LCFC is dead as we speak Itkagent1962 ... @Agent_mb disagree about Maynard mate. Still got legs although player has to force his end a bit more. #LCFC Agent_mb FootballAgent @Itkagent1962 your right does need maynard to push.. But maybe to late check my last tweet His previous tweet was: Agent_mb FootballAgent Gotta love deadline time, its midnight and just received txt from Chief exec saying got permission to speak to one of our players #crayday
No point dwelling on it. I don't think Maynard did want to leave, I suspect he doesn't want to move his new family yet and will just see his contract out before moving to a Prem team. In any case, lets just let the subject lie.
