Did anyone else hear his interview on RH?

I have to admit it made my drive home slightly happier when i heard him directly have a go at the Boo boys, and rightly so. I sit with most of them unfortunately and they are completely clueless. Can i ask if anyone on here did boo and why?

As admittedly it is frustrating but the players are clearly as frustrated as us and are trying their best, tonight was not down to lack of effort.

I was happier when he corrected Burnsy and pointed out it was only some of the fans.

I was amazed at the naivety about the striker situation though. To not have even looked to see what's available is frankly ridiculous. Every manager in the world should be constantly looking to see what's available to see if it could improve his team.

At least he's now publically said the responsibility lies entirely with him (and his staff, but it's his job to tell them what he wants). Might put an end to the idea he wanted someone and the Allams wouldn't give him the cash.

we are not a bad team and we will do well this season when you put it in perspective but if we loose out again by what looks like a lack of ambition... well I am just clueless as to why.

4 million investment in january has a very good chance of paying off 60Million +. Not massively critical I am just struggling to understand this one.

But the Allams have already invested 40M+ the club can't keep pouring money in, thats just awful business sense, i know you have to take risks, but we are still losing money.

And Ricardo do you honestly believe him? Do you really think he wasn't looking? I think we all know he was, however the point is he is not going to publicly come out and state we need a striker the day we said we won't get one, that would give Fryatt and Mclean even less confidence then they have now.

well getting Oly off the wage bill would have been a start wouldn't it. I know what you are saying but they didn't pour 40 million into this club to sit in the championship season after season because we just aren't quite cutting it.

The fans that are booing are a disgrace! I agree with the points of we pay the wages with season tickets and in the stands with food drink etc. But you shouldn't boo your own team the players will be just as annoyed as us fans at the results.

I thought Oli did enough tonight and on Saturday to get a place alongside McKenna now.

Why do people have the idea that the only answers Barmby can give to the question "Did you look to see if there were any strikers available?" are:

    1) No, because my strikers are amazing and will score goals.
or 2) Yes of course I did, the ones I've got now are ****ing ****.

Amongst other things he could also have said:

I looked, but the players we have are good and it's hard to find better players and I'm not going to add to it for the sake of it.
I looked to see if there was anybody that offered us something different, but all that was available were more players like the ones we already have so there was no point signing them.

Disappointed when it came to the way he spoke of his formation choice, "We created about 20 chances and most teams with a 4-4-2 don't create that."
No Nick, they don't, instead of creating 20 half-chances, they create 10 excellent chances and finish 3 of them!

Don't get me wrong, I'm behind Nick but we really, really need to change to some variation of a 4-4-2.. we have four decent strikers (on their day) and playing any of them on the wing is simply a waste.
Judging by his comments it won't be changed anytime soon. :emoticon-0149-no:

Fair enough but where does that come from? The club has to balance the books we can't keep throwing moeny around where not a rich big club. Until people realise that the fans will keep on booing. I agree we need someone but we should have scouts at every league in the lower leagues, abroad looking for cheaper riskier options.

Ricardo - I completely agree but when you have a split moment to think about the consequences of what you say its no doubt harder. I know for a fact that the club did look at strikers and another midfielder and winger, yet he has not once admitted it what does that say?

Whilst a draw at home against Donny is'nt what we would really like it's not the end of the world. Some of our "new" supporters act like Leeds fans sometimes and boo because they think we are massive and should be beating teams like Crawley and Donny.
I hate that "we are a big club mentality" have you any idea how long some of us watched city before we got to division one/prem?
Apart from that freak year when we went to Wembley and won at the Emirates this is one of our best seasons in our history, we are in a playoff position and might still get promotion!
God damn glory hunters if you do'nt like whats on show then stay away from MY team, I'll be there next August for the first game of the season no matter if we are in the prem or we get relegation and we kick off a division below this.
Anybody moaning about not pushing the boat out and spending a few million on a striker etc, you are not a fan of Hull City you are just like the morons I went to school with that latched onto the big clubs because they won stuff and were in the prem.
I feel sorry for them to be honest the boo boys have no idea what it means to be city till I die and despite how loud they sing that stupid Elvis tune "caaaaaa'nt help falling in love" they just do'nt get it poor souls.

If they were saying we couldn't afford it there'd be far less of an issue for fans. It's more of a problem that the management are publically saying there's money to spend but that the lack of goals from strikers isn't a problem, and are even saying they're not even looking to see if anybody is available who could improve the situation because they're happy with things as they are.

    Pretty unfair John.
Obviously we should be happy with where we are now if we compare it to previous seasons.. previous decades, etc, but that can be said for literally any club.
It doesn't make it unreasonable for people to complain when game after game after game, we dominate and fail to score against a far weaker side.
It doesn't make us glory hunters, (surely every fan wants glory for their team!?) and the majority of us will still be there next season regardless of our division.
Most are moaning/complaining in a reasonable fashion and shouldn't be criticised for being frustrated after a game we could and should have won 3-0.

Don't make out like you're the only true fan in existence.

Theres a difference between money to spend, and money to spend on a striker. Matt Tubbs never scored a goal above League two went for 800K.... thats ridiculous. To get a goalscorer at Championship is 3M+, we don't have that money.

Of course a draw against Donny isn't the end of the world. If that was a one off result it'd be nothing more than slightly annoying.

The problem is that that performance was exactly what we've come to expect from this season. We're always creating 10, 15, 20 chances, how many times have we done that and not scored now? Most games. It's nothing short of farcical that we cn create so many chances and still fail to score. It's become an absolutely huge problem for every player in the team. Only Koren has any confidence in his own shooting, and even he can only score from one particular situation, give him it inside the box and he's almost as bad as the rest of them.

Fryatt had the best chance of the game but as usual took 20 touches to get it under control despite the pass being perfect, and then even though Donny allowed him his copious touches and still gave him time to shoot he still managed to miss. In a way I was pleased that he actually aimed for the corner (and I have said on here before that I would cut him some slack if he missed the odd one as long as he was aiming for the right areas and not just straight at the keeper) but until he actually scores one of them I can't help but have a go at him. I actually thought Fryatt was 'on form' today, he was making the runs and getting in decent positions but he still can't finish. It isn't just him though.

Stewart, as I've been saying for ages, needs to run to the byline. He used to do it all the time and almost always create goals, now he's obsessed with cutting inside and almost always loses possession in doing so.

This wasn't an off day, this was an average performance for us and unless something changes drastically in our attack I'm afriad I can't see us getting promotion, which is a massive shame given the potential of the current squad.

Jason Roberts wouldn't have been £3M+. It was obvious to anyone who watches MOTD that he was available because he explained his situation on there weeks ago. He's now ended up at our promotion rivals and scored the winner for them at the weekend. They may have been taken over by a billionaire allowing them to sign him permanently, but why weren't we in for him on loan before that takeover happened? And don't be saying wages, there'd be no fee, it'd be a short term contract, and at that point Blackburn were having him to sit in the stand doing nothing to avoid giving him another year, they'd have taken a fraction of his wages just to move him on for the last few months of his contract. I'm sure we could have funded it for less than the Hamill transfer fee alone would have been.

I fully back the manager in his decisions on signing or not signing players

How much do you think Jason Roberts wages are a week ? We are still trying to offload players on premier league wages our wage billl is still pretty big

Why is throwing money around seen as the only solution ?
