I'm with you there. They've done an amazing thing in buying the club but they need to understand that was the beginning, if they want to run a football club there are necessary costs and unless we want to be in a relegation battle, new players in the summer are definitely a necessary cost. Everyone brings in new players in the summer, even the teams at the bottom end of the league. If we're lookin at promotion we really should be spending some money. Not silly money but some money, enough to get hold of the kind of players who are doing well at a lesser club and would want to join us. I think even if there are a few freebies available, we can't just rely on that market, there will be plenty of other clubs going for them. We were all convinced last year that we would get Danns, but that didn't happen because there were other clubs with more money!
It will be interesting to see the effect of FFP on the players' market. Quite a few dropped from squads no doubt. Plus: Wolves down; West Ham and Brum poss in the proverbial; Pompey too.....
