Just looking at his details, I never realised he's a big lad; 6'4" !!!!

Can imagine with the way we play, with Brady-boy and Elmo raining in crosses, him getting on the end of a few. Looking at his youtube clips a fair proportion of his goal are from headers.

Plus if we get a poacher, like Le Fondre for example, it could be a useful partnership.

Suppose it all hinges on whether Steve Bruce can keep him under control, but as he's had him twice before, you'd have to assume he (Bruce) thinks he can.

Depends on the money, but it could turn out to be a master stroke.
 
We were going to pay 4.5 m for Austin and I would think about 25k per week. on a 3 year deal that would be around an 8.5 m total outlay.

Were we to get Bendtner for next to nothing, then that would be an 8.1 million outlay - no need to subsidise wages.

In reality he would probably accept some sort of wage cut - no-one is going to offer 52k P/W for a player who hasn't lived up to his billing at a big club.

If he would take 35 k p/w then that would still leave 3 m transfer fee and we'd still not be out of pocket in comparison to the Austin deal.

obviously the fee - wages ratio would be a sliding scale. the less we got him for would leave more for wages potentially.

the risk with Bendtner would be whether we could move him on, for how much and whether he would be happy playing in the Championship if we went down.

I think that's the only negative point about bendtner, the fact if we go down what would happen to him, i doubt he'd want to drop to the championship, but there could be a resale value, he would be an astute addition, he scored a good few goals for arsenal, and he's brilliant in the air plus he is a great poacher and he's just ****ing huge

Bruce knows him well

One thing that might prevent Bendtner joining us is the fact that his fiancée (and Mother of his son) just happens to be socialite/friend/member of the Danish Royal Family by the name of Baroness Caroline Iuel-Brockforff (so there). She is 13 years his senior (but looks nowhere near it) and was previously married to the son (or nephew depending where you read) of James Bond creator, Ian Flemming. Couple these with the fact that she owns a huge castle in Denmark and is currently valued at over 400 million quid (more than the Allam's).
I cannot see her eating Fish and Chips out of a newspaper whilst shopping down Whitefriargate. Just saying like.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce is set for a third reunion with Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner after offering the Denmark international the chance to move away from the Gunners, the Daily Mail has reported.

Bendtner previously played on loan for Bruce at Birmingham City and Sunderland and now the Tigers boss wants to sign the 25-year-old on a full-time basis - and is willing to pay £3m for the forward. Hull will also agree to pay Bendtner £30,000 per week but Arsenal will continue paying part of his contract as well.

It is more than two years since Bendtner played for Arsenal, having spent a season on loan at both Sunderland and Juventus - but he failed to score a goal in his time in Turin and Juve sent him back to the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season. His Arsenal career has seen Bendtner make 157 appearances, scoring 43 goals.

Bendtner previously netted 13 times on loan with Bruce at Birmingham, and scored eight goals for Sunderland.
 
There's no way Arsenal will pay part of a contract of a player who is not contracted to them. I'm not even sure that is legal.

What might happen is the we loan him from them for a year with a very big fee and they pay half his wages.

OR they might give him a golden handshake in lieu of wages hight would not be getting by signing for us.

Eh? Im confused - youve said it might not be legal in your first line but then you describe exactly what happens in your last line, both being the same thing.

It happens all the time, with TWS famously having done it for many players, particularly Fowler and Mills. What happens is the player a club no longer want will only agree to a move to another club on lower wages if his current club subsidise the move. for example in this case we offer Bendtner on 32k a week. He says "screw that, Im 20k a week down". Arsenal pay him a lump sum equivalent to 20k a week saving themselves 32k a week and the player is break even.

Or did you mean something else and Im not reading it right?

If I recall, his Danish Sheela's ancient ancestor was Henry the Forff ? An offer of 30k quid a week and a lifetimes supply of Hamlet cigars might just sway a deal !

No, the article stated that Bendtner would sign for us permanently, but would then continue to pay part of his wages.

The first, alternative I offered to that would be where we loaned him from them and each club paid a proportion of his wages for the season.

The second alternative would be where Arsenal would pay the player a signing off fee, a lump sum upon signing for another club to compensate him for lower wages at the other club.
 
Bendtner will be due a pay off if he hasn't asked to leave anyway, so would be well within his right to claim the difference he'd make if he stayed at Arsenal.
