Sense of humour bypass. I'd like to meet up with a few of these former coppers, preferably on the golf course where they might have to duck a few stray shots heading their way.

There is an ongoing case to have old and disproportionate convictions, especially from decades ago, wiped clean. The sooner it happens the better, far too much talent is being lost to minor convictions and cautions dished out like confetti. It's a typical ploy to give a caution and to say it won't matter but in far too many cases it does.

Here's another thing, anyone wishing to travel to the good old USA needs to fill out an online Esta...and it will ask if you have ever been arrested (even if found not guilty) or been given a caution for what they call crimes of moral turpitude...theft and drug possession being two of them. As the USA doesn't recognise spent convictions and as they consider a caution to be the same as being arrested, the nurse Haslam speaks of should, by rights, admit her caution on the Esta form and instead apply for a very longwinded visa. Here's the thing though, she might not get one, though she would have to have an interview at the US consular office in London. And even being granted a visa doesn't guarantee entry into the USA. Now here's the real thing, and I'd like to mention for anyone on here in a similar position. The USA does not have access to the PNC criminal database so the nurse can say she doesn't have a caution. The British and the USA only share high level information such as terrorism, people smuggling and drug smuggling. Fuk em all.

My brother and his mate climbed over a razor wire fence in order to sneak into the Germany 1 England 5 game. They were chased by police carrying machine guns. My brothers mate was caught. My brother managed to get into probably the greatest international match ever without having to pay, trousers torn and covered in blood.

I've been escorted out of a cricket match by coppers at Old Trafford. I got back in later to loud cheers and applause. Had been on Carlsberg special and was ****ing bladdered <laugh>

I hear they have to let you go if you claim that you are actually dressed as a stripper dressed as a copper....

The most famous streaker must be Erica Roe. Massive jugs and wearing a snake belt <laugh>

Was I ****. I'm not one of those ****ers <laugh> It was in the days when you could sit behind the rope on the boundary. When they were taking me out, I was treading in people's butties and stuff cos I was so pissed. Everyone was booing the coppers. I still can't remember how I got back in and how I managed to find my mates. It was a Gillette Cup semi and it was capacity <laugh>
