I'm pretty sure the email domain has been @hulltigers for several years. The badge change is split over two lines, so all that's happened really is we've lost 'AFC' and 'The'. Is there anything else I've missed to suggest that a 'Hull Tigers' type name could be on its way?
Yep, there's a couple of bits more mentioned in this thread. My concern heightened when I read Nick's response. It sounds like a nonsense, which always makes a cynic like me suspicious. They shouldn't **** about with tradition, and despite this 'only for marketing' bollocks, that is what they're doing.
Not that I've seen so maybe as you suggest so not a big issue. Some may be over reacting but thats what FLAG meetings are for, yes?
Most people think Man City hold the rights to the name "City". I've had people from Hull whinge at me for referring to us as City. Rebranding is just wrong.
It's funnier how as our civilization matures, it's ideas get more immature. Hull Tigers is maybe what you'd accept an under 5's team to be called. Why is everything having to become so limp wristed and childish to be marketable? It's not like people are going to think "oh I'll go support Hull now there's 3 letters and 2 words missing off the badge, much better club they are now" so why bother even ****ing about with it in the first place? (can anyone actually give a reasonable answer to that question?) And for what it's worth, I think the 'marketing' badge actually looks worse. It looks bare, hollow and misrepresentative.
Good point and I remember our 1st Premier season when Man City fans made it very clear " There's only one City" was the chant.. My brother is Manchester based and the "Outlaws" have been Man City pass holders for years. They were very impressed when I told them I was a City fan... then they realised it was Hull City!
He's an East Yorkshire White, who ditched them when they got relegated and went to our matches in the premier league. I don't hang around with him.
Well it just shows how parochial your 'outlaws' are then. In Bradford, City refers to Bradford City. In Leicester, City refers to Leicester City. In Bristol, City refers to Bristol City. In Exeter, City refers to Exeter City. In Birmingham, City refers to Birmingham City.
Is he one of these ****s? https://en-gb.facebook.com/HullWhitesRmc?filter=1 I've dobbed them in to ***** watch
Probably not. Dunno if he's ever been to Elland Road in his life. He just claimed he was one of their fans. We're hardly best mates.
Sounds as if you were there.. almost exactly what I told them... 2nd season was better still when we took 4 points off the parochial, arab funded swines..
Yeah, they've changed some of the marketing paraphernalia, but the actual name of the club hasn't changed and I doubt it will, unless we go bust and have to reform. The badge could do with a change, we need a more fearsome looking Tiger than the camp, semi winking animal on our badge at the minute. The old Tiger was much better. And Wonga would be worse. I guess it just sounds as daft as it looks. Plus I think of that fat guy from the phones4cash adverts or whatever it was who had it as a catchphrase .
Brendon Smurthwaite had an @hulltigers email address, and trying to think when I would have got that address for him, it probably means they were using it before we were in the PL.
I'm not at all certain about this, but I can't actually remember a time while we've been at the KC, when everyone didn't have @hulltigers email address.
