Mick got it wrong today by not picking Chopra to start as I said on another thread his goal record against Bristol is fantastic. He scores every time he plays against them but maybe his off field problems had something to do with him not playing today.
Unfortunately I think it's this sort of attitude that's seen us spend a decade in the second tier. It's the same old **** again. Patience, patience, patience. Bollocks to it. We've failed to beat Barnsley and Bristol City. McCarthy needs to shake things up.
Hampy, he is trying to do that, upfront at least anyway. Problem is he does need to look at other parts of his team as well, namely his skipper, Edwards has been shocking for weeks.
And he will Yorkie but he needs the backing from Evans to bring in the players we need and unfortunately it does take a little time! He's had 3 months so far and in that time we have picked up 25 points with mostly these players but it is obvious that we lack quality all over the park. Lets just wait until Friday

rome wasn't built in a day, we have had a nightmare run of managers since big fat joe went, but with mick i truly believe we have a guy who will sort it out.................in time!
Haven't most of us said MM will keep us safe this season and build HIS team during the summer. We all know the midfield is pretty **** and not supplying the forward line. Mcgoldrick will come good. You don't score the amount he did prior to arrival by being crap, albeit a league lower. IMO Maclean and nouble are far from the quality we want and need. MM has got the defence playing far better we don't have to worry if we're gonna ship 5 or 6. So lets get this season out the way let MM get us safe, which he will then build for a sustained assault next season. And lets be honest we don't like to see our team lose, especially to teams lower than us but we're not in the best shape ourselves.
We've had good runs under Keane and Jewell. Feels like groundhog day. I reckon Clegg and the players have already vacuumed up the magic dust that MM brought with him.
These players have reached their level and its now time for them to be replaced but it can't be done overnight! It was always going to be a bumpy ride but lets just wait and see who else Mick brings in before the deadline. I notice that DJ hasn't actually signed for anyone yet so who knows?
Hampy your sounding really defeatist. Ok we've taken 1 point off 2 teams lower than us and that is abysmal. But we've also picked up points where prior to MM arriving we'd have been slaughtered. Cardiff for instance. We ain't gonna win the league but we ain't that **** we're be playing league 1 football next season.
He's stated it'll probably be more loans. He must have contacts to get some quality in. And yes warky dj is still in limbo and I'm sure we'd have him back at the drop of a hatter. Sorry hat.
What's interesting Warky is Jewell feels Evans would've backed him with more cash. Probably true. We need to forget about ffp because the penalties are going to be laughable. That doesn't mean living beyond our means but with an owner with £800m our means should be pretty damn healthy. it's now or never time in the summer, if we can survive until then.
I hate to say it, but you lot sound like the Budgies. Let's not start melting down just yet. We've got the best chance of making something of this club since they sacked Magilton (when we were finishing top half). A couple of ropey results and it's all End of The World is Nigh on a sandwich board. Come on people! If Redknapp, Holloway and even the mighty Lambert are having a mare, surely that tells you that English football is a lottery? Some you win, some you lose. It'll all come out in the wash.
I think it will be a case of getting through to summer with minimal permanent signings and then build the squad. The thought of us going down must be playing a big part in the current decision making. Only once we know for sure where we'll be playing next season will Mick be able to really start identifying the players to take us forward, and what level of player/wage he can look at.
We won't be going down. We've got enough to stay up. We've shown we can win. And like you s say hawky why it appears people are walking round with the end of the world is nigh boards is beyond me. Yes it's 2 shocking results but lets not forget what MM has achieved in a short time and how we've all sung his praises. I'm sure he's well aware where the issues are and come the summer he will start to build his team and ship out the deadwood.
I think we will be ok but it does feel like groundhog day all over again, similar to when PJ first came!! We do need players, no doubt about that but I feel Micks too rigid atm, we're much better at the back but if we haven't got the players who suit 422 why continuously play it?? With 2 defensive midfielders and 2 wingers one right footer on the left who admits he prefers playing centrally and one winger who hasn't played well on the wing for about 4 years!! How Edwards continues to get into the team I do not know!! I also don't see why we've brought in McLean and how he keeps getting in the team ahead of any of our strikers, I think Murphy and Chopra have been unfortunate not to get into the team!! Why have 3 strikers on the bench also and no JET?? McCarthy frustrates me as I do really think he is a good manager but i feel his talents have limits because he's too set in his ways and is too stubborn!!!
The good thing is that our upcoming fixtures look more difficult but as we seem to do better against teams in the top half then I am strangely not worried about picking up points. It would be nice if we could take points off the teams who sit around us in the table but that doesn't seem to be our way so we'll just have to beat those who aren't instead to secure our safety.
