I've only seen the written response and not the question put to him but I wouldn't read anything into it. He's been very quiet and not quashed the rumours to now. If he was put on the spot that would be the answer he had to give

... why does he have to quash rumours? ... the lad is not kicking up a fuss or demanding a transfer ... his only comments have been that he is happy at Leicester and is now concentrating on the Euros ... Vardy hasn't quashed one rumour that he has already signed for Arsenal...

I think it helps that Vardy and Mahrez are obviously more comfortable at speaking English and at giving interviews but they both said they are staying right at the end of the season before the rumours have started. Like I say, it's just my opinion but I tend to feel confident keeping Vardy and Mahrez based on what I've heard but this update from Kante to me just seems as you were. I really hope he does stay obviously but for me better updates are Man City pulling out or Arsenal signing Xakaa (I know the spelling is wrong) as it makes them less likely to need a midfielder. Hopefully the potential suitors continue to dwindle

...we all fear losing the best players .arguably because wwe have always been a selling club ... until now... so you can't shift pessimism overnight... but the lad in reality on questions about his future has merely said "I'm fine where I am for now" ... depends where you put the emphasis of course but that can easily be read as "I'm not looking to move" ...

True, you've hit the nail on the head pointing out its what we're used to and it's difficult to believe it can be different. What you say is the case on the face of it without reading too much into it. I suppose with the amount of rumours flying around reading too much into things is the worst thing we can do. No point in speculating either way but don't the press love trying to unsettle us!

... we've upset the 'natural order' mat -r and it is grating on the masses of press and pundits who have been left with their pants down and a smacked arse ...

Typical was Mickey Quinn on talkSport this morning ... who didn't think Drinkly hadn't 'done enough' to get in the final England team ... but Andros Townsend had ... in his few games for Newcastle at the end of the season ... and the Liverpool based jordan henderson and Ross Barkley had 'earlier in the season' ...

Fair play to Danny Kelly mind who pointed out to MQ that Stan Collymore mad DD his MOTM against the Aussies (as Glen Hoddle did against the Dutch) .. not too bad for DDs only two full appearnces eh? ... in response the bloated one could only chirrup "Nah not for me" ...

Reality is that the three best English midfielders of this season are Dele Alli, Eric Dier and Danny Drinkwater f- albeit for different reasons ...

barkley and Henderson give next to nothing compared to others in the squad and wilshire is an injury risk ..

For me Woy dhould leave behind 2 of Henderson, Barkley and Wilshire ...end of <ok>

Hence why England will not win anything! Roy picks on name and on form if you play for a 'big club'. I have respect in a way for Switzerland dropping Inler as he isn't playing for us. As proved, Roy's favourites can not play all season and get picked

In the past we either needed to sell or our best players had ambitions of winning trophies and went to bigger clubs. The big difference now, we don't need to sell, we've just won the Premier League :1980_boogie_down: and we're in the Champions League :1980_boogie_down:

Hopefully once Euro 2016 starts the journo's will have stuff to report on & stop creating stories about who we're apparently selling for a couple of weeks.
