I said at the World Cup this **** is going to end up being universally hated. He is up in arms again demanding protection, as is his club manager. He left the pitch in tears over a broken metatarsal after landing awkwardly. Teams are now sick of his play acting, his mocking of opposition players with flicks etc which serve no football purpose expect to humiliate his opponent. My personal view is when you don't respect the game or your opponents, you deserve to lifted. You deserve it time and time again until you stop diving and stop piss taking. Otherwise you have to accept the treatment you get.

I'm sure others will say that he should be allowed to express himself and we should be encouraging innovative play. I'm all for tricks and attacking players, but you can't have it all ways. You take the piss and cheat by diving, and then moan when someone cheats themself by kicking you.

If you can't tell, I ****ing hate Neymar. Everything that is wrong with modern football.

Only bit I don't agree with is the "deserve to be kicked". For me it's the old two wrongs don't make a right. No doubt he's a very good, not great, footballer but he should stop diving and he should stop whining. Classed as a great far too soon and well before he has even earned the right to be considered as a "great".

Totally agree that he exemplifies everything that is wrong with the modern day footballer.
 
I ****ing hate him as well. Messi on the other hand is a class act. Zaha is the Neymar of the premiership. He seems to think he has some god given right to protection also. He's targetted because he is a danger man to opposition but seems to take personal offence to this everytime someone so much as breathes near him....****ing snowflake!!

And don't even get me started on that **** Salah !!

If the football authorities won't deal with it, and the referee's don't have the means to, then players will always take it into their own hands. I understand though some won't agree with lifting him. Personally I was brought up in that culture and it was very very effective at stopping dick heads like him. I would not mind one little bit if he took the huff and quit football because he was being kicked. The game is better off without people like him.

Find it hard to have a coherent opinion on kicking him. On a theoretical level, I have to disapprove of it so I suppose I do. I don't seem to have convinced myself, though, because my sympathies are with the defender and not with Neymar.

Ronaldo (the slim one) started off with a box of unnecessary tricks. Over the years, though, he honed his style down to doing everything effective and nothing unnecessary. Kicking a player like Ronaldo who leaves you feeling humiliated because he is so much better than you is a disgrace. Smacking someone who has humiliated you just for his private amusement is a natural reaction. Most of us will sympathise even if we can't quite square it with our world view.

All this respect/ taking the mick thing takes me back to 1976 when I was 16 year old
I was playing in a 5 a side competition for
all ages , when I megged this this guy ( who was about 40 year old ) and went onto to score telling my mates it's easy, they are old blokes. The next time I got the ball the same guy launched me over the 5ft wall, as he made no attempt to get the ball just to put me in my place
He got sent off for the assault
Valuable lesson learnt

Dont take the piss

Let's just say my opinion of him has changed somewhat since last season. When he went off injured in the CL final i thought he was a proper ****ing man-tart for crying. Now I just view him with the same hatred and contempt that I do Zaha and I enjoy seeing them both being wound up and getting the **** kicked out of them on the pitch....it's an itch that has never been scratched since Shearer hoyed the ball at Roy Keane <laugh>

If it's a toss up between the fannies that blight the modern game and the game back in the 50's, 60's and 70's then give me the old stuff any day of the week. There were fantastic footballers back in the day that used to get kicked up hill and down dale without rolling round everywhere the minute anyone touched them and certainly didn't whinge to the referee for protection.

This topic always makes me think back to how the top players used to deal with the old fashioned "rugged" tackling that used to happen. Put simply they adapted to what they were up against. Best example I can quickly think of was George Best. Clip below showing his top 10 goals but look at the first one ie no 10 and see how he rides the tackle by Chopper Harris and goes on to score.

The flair players used to get kicked a lot more than they ever do today but they simply used their talent to rise above it and not dive and whinge like Neymar & Co do today. Also as a side note take a look at the state of the pitch. Would love to see what the likes of Best would do on today's "billiard tables" and vice versa.
