It's not really a small number though when you look at the % of starting 11. Germany is about 60% playing abroad. Spain is about 50% playing abroad. England is 0% playing abroad.
Spain had De Gea, Thiago, Costa and Silva in their last game, so about 36%. Germany had Ter Stegen, Mustafi and Draxler in theirs, so about 27%. England had nobody, so 0%. We're still talking significant minorities here and it's even less in the squads. One of the Spaniards isn't Spanish, either! Countries like Argentina or Croatia would see the trend reversed entirely, with most of their players playing abroad.
Germany were playing their youngsters in the confed cup were they not? Morata will defo be in the Spain squad, as will Azpilicueta.
PSG are just doing what Chelsea did after Roman bought the club and City did after they became the Abu Dhabi royal family's toy. ie spending some rich bloke's money on his new hobby. PSG's bloke is just happy to chuck more cash at it. Not saying it's right. Chelsea, PSG, City etc their owners are killing the game.
My brother is a City fan and he takes interest in all the boring **** and he was telling me the 2 owners of the respective clubs have had a personal fallout and are going to get into a pissing contest this summer and he was right. It's just a pissing contest between two arab families with small willies
It's because PSG are owned by Qatar, who have recently been ostracised by the other gulf states for sponsoring terrorism. Which is pretty ironic, especially as Saudi are one of those involved.
Why didn't La Liga intervene when Barca inserted the buyout clause into Neymar's contract? If that clause isn't valid, how can Barca or La Liga argue that the rest of the contract is valid? I'm sure HIAG can clarify this after he's googled contract law.
Can all the leagues just tell Spanish clubs to **** off now, then? Want to buy a player from the Premier League? Nope. You're going to break FFP and you keep tax dodging. They've rigged the game and can't handle anyone muscling in on their territory.
It's nothing to do with the contract, La Liga are arguing that PSG don't have the money, it's being paid by Qatar in violation of FFP. In other words, La Liga have taken it upon themselves to do UEFA's job. Sounds bollocks to me - if PSG are violating UEFA rules then it's up to UEFA to enforce them, not La Liga. Smacks of when train drivers go on strike and claim it's about 'safety'. No one put you in charge of safety so **** off back to work.
Apparently a snag now. La Liga not sanctioning as they don't think if fits financial fair play. Really interesting to see how this goes.
