You can tell Klinsmann is a club legend because all the current players imitate him. The only problem is they forgot they have to dive after they score
I certainly did follow his career, it was plastered everywhere. I was a youngster who loved his football. I also used to watch Jean Pierre Papin at Marseille and other such gems back in the day. Football was free and on the box a plenty. Brehme, Romanian Hadji, etc, etc...there has been some world class talent before the PL
I don't have to have watched them every game...I know about their achievements like I know about alot of things....education, sources, interest etc etc. Don't worry about it
Henry was never world class IMO. He was an excellent Premier League striker, but he usually went missing when he came up against top defenders in the Champions League, that's why the invincible team never did anything in Europe, as they had a passenger for a main striker. He usually failed to live up to expectations for France too, often going missing in big games, and rarely performed like he did in the Premier League at international level.
Scored winners v Juve and Real in run up to final in 2006 if I remember rightly, and went missing less than Cantona in Europe?
Let's not forget our team in the early 90s had no chance in Europe, due to the fact half our players weren't allowed to play. I'm sure Cantona would have performed a lot better in Europe had he played in our team say 5 years later. When you talk world class though, to me it means world 11 level. In the PL for example the only 3 players id say are world class are Kane, De Bruyne and De Gea.
OK being the optimum word, not great. How many golden boots in international competitions or champions league did he win?
Cantona was never an out an out striker. If you want to compare him to someone in Arsenal's team then Bergkamp is a similar player. Cantonas leadership and influence was as good as anys though
Cantona was a leader, and the catalyst to probably the most dominant period any club in English football has ever had. United fans still sing his song at every match to this day. Bergkamp was technically brilliant, but I'd still go with Cantona for his influence alone.
